I want highly recommend this trip to everybody who is visiting Sri Lanka, especially to everybody staying around Galle. The tour guide Ravindra Ravi is really a wonderful and polite guy with absolutely perfect English language skills. We where so satisfied with this trip we immediately agreed couple of other trips for next days.
I was ordering this trip just two days in advance for my girlfriend and me. After reading some bad reviews about Viator I was even not sure if somebody will really pickup us, anyhow almost immediately after booking I received an email message from Ravi with the instructions. Finally, everything was like agreed and we fully enjoyed our trip. The national park Udawalawe is amazing and beautiful place and we really had a luck to see a lot of animals especially elephants including 3 weeks old baby. The driver did his best to show us as much animals as possible. We were visiting the park at the end of November and there were absolutely not so many jeeps as some other people are claiming. The weather was great not so hot and a little bit cloudy, so the animals were not hiding in the shadows so much Both drivers Ravi on the way from Galle to Udawalawe and back, and the jeep driver inside the park were driving comfortable and quite safe considering the driving situation at Sri Lanka and the road quality. Hope to visit Sri Lanka again and if possible, we will be glad to join this trip again.

The tour was great. Mahesh was our guide and he was wonderful, and our driver did his best to try and find us some leopards. The park had some great off-roading moments which were a lot of fun. Unfortunately, didn't see any leopards, but had a great time nonetheless. Highly recommend.

3am pick up from our hotel in Galle to get to Yala for the early morning session was an early start, but one bonus was there was virtually no traffic to contend with...until we hit the ticket booth at Yala. There looked to be approx 200 other jeeps all waiting to buy entry tickets, so the guides lined up and you wait, which can take some time. Then you enter along with everyone else. It was very busy the morning we were there, not sure if this is the norm. There was a lot of dust, the roads are very rutted, and there were a lot of jeeps all trying to vie for spots along the tracks to see the animals and birds. At times, it can get very congested and by the time your vehicle gets a clear view, the animals can already be gone. Our guide got word that there were leopards at one spot, and by the time we got there, the line of vehicles along the track in both directions was overwhelming. We actually saw one accident along the way, where two jeeps had run into each other. An indication that numbers entering the park at the same time, should probably be more limited. That said, we were lucky enough to see many water buffalo, elephants up close, boars, peacocks, and many small birds. The leopards may have been illusive the day we were there, but the park itself has very beautiful scenery and is well worth the visit. Our guide and drivers were very competent, great at spotting the wildlife, and we felt safe the entire trip.

Great driver and guide. Very nice people and great tour. It might be better to stay the night in Yala, however it was a great experience none the less
