Meet a driver at the Mossel Bay cruise port for 10am departure, then head to the launch point for great white shark cage diving (the exact departure time can be tailored to your cruise schedule). Mossel Bay’s relatively warm, protected water, along with the presence of nearby Seal Island make this a world-class destination for spotting great white sharks in their marine habitat.
By 11am, you’ll be heading out across the water. Climb into a shark cage that the crew of the boat will submerge in “shark territory,” then chum the water with fish that are a part of great white sharks’ natural diet.
Following the shark cage experience, return to shore, where you’ll refuel for an afternoon of exploring with lunch at the waterside Sea Gypsy Café (lunch is own expense). After lunch, continue to the Cape St. Blaize lighthouse, then enjoy sweeping views along the coast from the rocky cliffs at at The Point.
If enough time remains, make a final stop at the Bartolomeu Dias Museum Complex, which explores the history, culture, and landscape of the Mossel Bay region. This 6-hour shore excursion concludes with drop-off at the cruise port at roughly 4pm.
