Even though we had light rain we had a nice tour through the mountains. Interesting stories and facts from our tour guide, Dustin.

Good mix of the Gatlinburg area, downtown, and out in the country. We went through the Arts Community, and National Park. We had a great guide.

We actually did our tour on Sunday, May 7 because of the 90mph winds Thursday before. The winds knocked out power and downed trees so the tour was rescheduled. We had the option of getting a refund but since we were leaving Sunday anyway we decided to proceed. My husband and I ended up being the only ones! Dustin Ownsby was our tour guide, a 7th generation Ownsby, as he puts it I'm as local as local can get. He has the perfect personality for this. I've been coming to the Smokies since I was in middle school so I felt I knew alot about the area already. However, he proved me wrong. Though some of the normal routes were still closed because of downed trees, Dustin showed us places I had never been. He's very knowledgeable and personable. The ONLY reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I've been here so many times before. For a newbie, this would absolutely be a must do!
