Genoa is a very hilly city and the hop on hop off bus is a great way to get around. You need to do a bit of research before you go as there are some great sights to see on almost every stop and some beautiful churches which are not listed in the map provided. Audio guide was good and the commentary informative.
Very easy to hop on and off the bus, which because it was a cruise day(in port) ran every 20 minutes instead of the usual 30 minutes. Very friendly staff and a good way to see the beautiful city of Genoa.
Did the whole tour first (one hour) to decide where to stop off at next time round.
very good easy to find just outside the main port building nice cheap way to see the city
Great service you can see the city and make sure the bus is going to be there for you at any time
Wonderful way to see the city without walking excessively or paying for an esorted tour. Pickup point is very close to the Port so it ifs a doable tour for people with disabilities or other mobility issues. Cost of the tour if you purchase your ticket from the bus tour operator is $15 euros. The seating is comfortable and the open top level of the bus can be covered when it is raining. The audio describing the points of interest was great but not so good on a tour in Mallorca. Overall, great value.
We enjoyed the ride and the introduction to Genoa and it's history. Did you know that denim was developed there - then exported to US to become jeans? Lots of things to see and do in Genoa, including the Palazzo Reale and the Museum of 3 palaces. Great introduction to help us decide what and where we wanted to spend our time.
Enjoyed the tour. Had the same problem with this tour as with EVERY tour with hop on hop off through Europe. It is not clear where to catch the bus. No maps that can be seen are printed on the internet and often if there is a location listed- it is so general as to not be able to be found. I would not buy tickets in advance for any of the tours. Look up the tours locally and buy the ticket on the bus. There are several companies and you should go with the first one you find, not do a scavenger hunt for a bus in a strange city.
We docked at the cruise terminal and were able to walk off to the waiting Hop-On. The tour was interesting and I was intrigued to see there was an English tour audio for children as well. I had not noted that on the other Hop-Ons. It was easy to get off at different stops and get another bus. The map provided was easy to read. I was surprised at how beautiful Genoa was and is.
This was a great way to see the city and was the best of 3 hop-on hop-off tours I took that week. Friendly and helpful and not too crowded.
Lots of thing s to see. the Hop on Hop off Tour was the easiest way to accomplish it.
MADE IT VERY EASY TO GET OFF AND ON, WERE DROPPED IN SAFE PLACES. SOUND TRACK WAS VERY ERRATIC. HAD TO SWITCH CONNECTIONS 4 TIMES BEFORE I FOUND ONE CLEAR ENOUGH TO ENJOY. oVERALL ITS A GREAT IDEA, THOUGH
Good and inexpensive way to get an overview of the city. It is cheaper to buy your tickets ahead of time online.

great tour! highly recommended!
However, it is cheaper to pay on board to the driver direct.
Hate to be a bringdown, but remember, this is Genoa -- it's not Paris, or Florence, or Manhattan. The bus takes you around a neighborhood along the port and describes a number of sights. There are a few moderately interesting things to see, and a tourist-oriented shopping arcade naturally where you can buy souvenirs and snacks, or sit down and have lunch. If your family comes from Genoa, or you really need to see where Columbus hung out, by all means do this. Although I am a big fan of many of Viator's tours, in this case you might be better off walking into town -- maybe 10-15 minutes -- with a guide book and ambling around on your own.
Good to see the sights-although there aren't many! Also, not well publicised so unsure where the stop was on our 1st day.
