Overview

Witness a mesmerizing natural light show in the Gold Coast hinterland with an evening tour to the Natural Bridge glow worm cave. Trek through the ancient coastal rain forest of Springbrook National Park with a guide to see the cave illuminated by the light of millions of tiny worms, and then turn your eyes upward for some stargazing in the pristine night sky.
  • 3-hour evening glow worm tour from the Gold Coast
  • See the luminous light show of millions of glow worms inside Natural Bridge Cave
  • Spot nocturnal Australian wildlife like owls, bats, and frogs
  • Experience the cool, quiet rainforest of Springbrook Plateau at night
  • Stargaze in the darkness of the Gold Coast hinterland
  • Includes pickup and drop-off from centrally located Gold Coast hotels
Be ready for pickup at your central Gold Coast hotel in the early evening, and travel inland to Springbrook National Park. This protected Queensland oasis offers an abundance of hiking trails through the ancient Gondwana rain forest and feels worlds away from the bustling beaches of the coast.

As darkness descends across the forest, use a provided flashlight to make a short trek to the Natural Bridge Cave, an impressive rock formation carved over thousands of years by the force of a waterfall. Today it’s home to a protected colony of glow worms, tiny creatures largely invisible during the daylight that put on a dazzling, luminous display after sundown.

Keep an eye out for other nocturnal wildlife such as bats, owls, and tree frogs as you listen to the sound of the forest coming alive all around you. Toward the end of the tour, there will also be an opportunity to switch off the flashlights and gaze up at the starry, unpolluted night sky before hopping back in the coach for the return drive to your hotel.

This was a fun tour! We learned a lot and had a great experience. Would highly recommend you fit it into your travel plans!

We really enjoyed this tour. Our two boys 7 and 10 especially liked the commentaries and learning lots of interesting things on this tour. We completely geeked out on the science bit.

The worst tour of my life. The tour guide was incredibly rude. Not worth the money. I would recommend renting a car and go there yourselves.

I had heard lots about Viator but in this case, after paying online, I was given the details of the tour company to then complete the booking myself. I would have been better just dealing with the company directly as I usually do because if a company proves difficult or unresponsive as this company did I would have simply spent my money elsewhere. Unfortunately, Viator do things the other way around and you're lumbered.

I cannot comment on the actual tour because they never showed up for the agreed pick-up and the number I was given to call 'at any time' didn't work. The reviews for this tour initially read very positively but when I checked again after my experience I noticed nothing has been submitted for the past 5 months - which has me curious.

It has now been 5 days since my supposed tour date but I have heard nothing back from Viator, apart from an automated response to one of my messages. This was far from the cheapest option for this tour locally not sure how that holds with Viator's price guarantee? and it certainly wasn't the best. After travelling for 6 months in 6 different countries, and my first time of using Viator, this was by far my poorest experience yet.

Truly amazing! Our tour guide also brought us for star gazing while up to the cave. The tranquility at the glow worm cave and the clear explanation by the tour guide made my experience an unforgetable one!

This tour was great! I'd recommend it for people that want to see something different and unusual. We enjoyed the star gazing as well. We actually found out that the moon faces the opposite direction in Australia than it does in the northern hemisphere. Dinner was ok and the people were nice at the country club. If I had it to do over i'd skip the dinner and just take the tour.

Great experience, definitely something you can experience in only a couple places! I recommend wearing long sleeves, pants and covered shoes. They do provide little torches as a light to guide your way through the park at night. The drive to the national park does include a windy road so something to consider before going on the tour if you get motion sickness. Our tour guide, Darren, was a great tour guide and was very informative.
