As you relax, your guide navigates around the island, stopping at landmarks such as the Calypso Cave and the Gordon Lighthouse. Stop for photos at all the key sights, and savor a hearty buffet lunch with wine. Round-trip ferry transport from Malta is also included.

My partner and I had the most amazing time in Malta during this Safari with Charlie as our guide. He is very knowledgeable, friendly and such a good driver! The Jeep itself is fairly comfortable and gives to the best views of Gozo. The lunch buffet was delicious with a selection of Mediterranean nibbles, plenty to go around. The local wine was really nice and they even had some fruit for dessert. The only downside of the whole experience was the transfer to the ferry because they gave us the wrong pick up address. But they shortly arranged another transfer for us. All in all, worth the money, Gozo is amazing and there's nothing like hearing about it from a local person.
Great guide, interesting place, missing instructions.

Gozo is quite fascinating- especially when you have a guide as terrific as Peter, who is a fount of knowledge, excellent English, and tries hard to adapt the tour to the clients’ specific interests.
The Jeep itself is relatively comfortable for a Jeep, especially with Gozo’s cracked roads.
The company could do a better job of instructing us how to get on the ferry. Our back-to-the-Hotel driver had to be searched when we got off the ferry.
Finally, the highlight (for us) was the Citadel - but only 30 minutes was allotted for that. It needs at least an hour if not more - spectacular bastion with huge ramparts and several small museums inside. Perhaps you can ask ahead of time for a small change in timing.
Thanks for your nice review and glad to know that you enjoyed your trip with Barbarossa Excursions.
it is true that the 30 minute stop at the Citadel is too short but if one wants to discover all the interesting points in the Citadel, one can return to the island and spend a whole morning or afternoon. The same goes with Ggantija Temples that also needs a half day to discover, but on such a trip, it is impossible to make longer stops.
Shared pick up was a bit long, but that's what shared pick ups are. Everything was smooth to board the ferry to Gozo from the main island.
Read reviews about how it was hard to coordinate the driver on the other end of the ferry in Gozo, however once you depart the ferry terminal - the driver-guide is already waiting for you with a sign and calling your tour company. Very easy!
Rode in the back of the Jeep and toured all around Gozo. Stopped for lunch at a local restaurant which seemed like it was also a family home. The food was fanstastic. The "starter" was pasta, of course - with homemade bolognese sauce. The main was chicken, veg and rice. Far above what we expected!
Met back up with the ferry to return to the main island. Meet up was with a different driver on the return transfer. Driver didn't seem to speak much English and had his toddler riding up front with him. Made it a bit awkward for the younger gentlemen that had to sit front beside the random driver's child, but didn't bother any of us.
Great to get off the main island and see some of the "off the beaten track" villages.
Had to pay entrance to the Temples upon arrival, but we knew this when booking the tour so all went well.
Great tour all in all! GOZO is NOTTT to be missed!
thansk a million for your amazing review:) may i ask who was your driver during the jeep safari pls? i am asking you this so i will tell him that you ejoyed your day with him/her :) sorry about the transfer in Malta but the traffic is crazy. glad you enjoyed the day with our team .
We had thoroughly enjoyed our Gozo trip! It was amazing how much we managed to see. Our guide Jorgen was very helpful and knowledgeable. It is a beautiful place and our trip to Malta wouldn’t be so impressive without this tour. Highly recommended!
Thanks for your nice comments:)
i will make sure that Jurgen sees your nice commnents.
i am glad you enjoyed your day with our company and hope to see you again in the near future :)
Almost everything went smoothly, including p/u at hotel, ferry transfers, return to hotel. One thing to be aware of is that when you arrive for the ferry in Malta, the driver drops you off, and there is no one to help with tickets, directions, etc. What we did not know, was that you do not NEED tickets to go over on the ferry to Gozo, only for the return trip. Our guide met us in Gozo, and gave us return tickets for the ferry. Just a lot of confusion until we figured it out. Our guide for the day was great. Only 4 of us in the jeep; two spoke English, and two spoke French. The driver did a good job of saying everything in both languages, so that was great. Lots to see in Gozo, and we thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Would recommend this trip very highly.
The organization was very good, the guides were excellent and even the lunch was about our expectation!
However, I lowered the score due to the fact that somehow the guides did not want to visit the Ggantija temple, declared in the program, offering instead a longer visit to the citadel.
TOUR OPERATOR COMMENT: Many thanks for your nice review which we greatly appreciate.
As for entrance to temples, museums etc. these are not included in the price of the tour as not everyone is interested in the same attraction and so we leave it up to the clients to choose which attraction they decide to enter at an extra charge.
At the Ggantija Temples, the entrance fee is not cheap and when the driver informs the clients about the entrance fee, hardly anyone accepts to enter. So the extra time is given at the next stop which is the Citadel.
When certain clients opt to enter Ggantija, we allow them to go in and then join the rest of the group at the Citadel and naturally with a shorter stop.
I hope that you have good memories of your visit to our island and the jeep experience.
While thanking you again for choosing Barbarossa Excursions, we look forward to have you and your friends again on our excursions and boat trips.
