Excellent day. Wonderful guide. Good driver. Stopped for almond pastry and a sweet coffee l think it's peculiar to Tejede. Walked up Roque Nublo. Lunch on the coast and then we finished up going to a coffee plantation which also grows oranges and makes wine. A truly great day!
So i have just red Margo's comment below, and there is not much else i could say. This was the most amazing tour i have ever taken. You will be surprised by a lot of things, the amazing guide Pavel will make your day incredible : I would also like to thank the group of people that travelled with me - the were amazing - funny and friendly, was lovely to meet them.
So don't hesitate and try this experience :
I wrote a review on this tour a few days ago, but apparently it went into the internet black hole. So I will try one more time.
We selected this tour as it promised to give us a view of the island that most tourists miss as they sit on the beach in Maspalomas. Indeed, you will see so much more of Gran Carnaria...you will be amazed.
Our first stop was Teror, a lovely city with charming buildings and a beautiful church. We actually visited this site twice, once on another tour on Sunday during their town market and then again early on Tuesday. I have to admit, while the market is exciting, it is really nice to see this city in a more tranquil mode.
Next we were on our way to Tejeda for a coffee stop and a chance to samples the sweet pastries of the island. The pastry shop was full of tempting treats....most a bargain price of only 1 each. Our guide Pavel treated us to the coffee and of course I ordered a Leche Leche....also a local treat! As we waited for our coffee the clouds parted and we saw a rainbow from the terrace of the cafe!
We then took a short drive to the trail leading up to Roque Nublo. Most of our group elected to do the 60 minute hike up and back. If you would rather you can do as much as you like...it's easy to return to the bus if the altitude is too much.
There were many photographic opportunities, even with some passing showers this is really worth a visit.
After our hike we started the drive down to the western coast of the island and the village of Agaete. This beautiful fishing port was the perfect spot for our dockside lunch. We were offered the menu del dia featuring local caught fish or a rice dish. There was even a bit of time to stroll along the dock before we re-boarded our bus to continue to our last stop, a coffee/wine plantation nearby.
We had a chance to see this unique enterprise, and enjoyed tasting their wine, coffee and cheese!
We were a very happy and satisfied group as we returned to Las Palmas via the coastal highway.
It was a lovely day and while we started on a cloudy morning with some showers the tour is beautiful, rain or shine. We saw both during our tour. Kudos to our driver Victor for his skillful navigation the the winding highways and many thanks to Pavel for bringing the sights of Gran Canaria alive with his lively conversation.
I highly recommend this tour!!!!
We really enjoyed the tour and learned a great deal from our excellent guide Pablo. When we drove up into the mountains it was very misty with poor visibility but luckily it cleared to show the amazing vistas. The walk up to El Roque nublo was well worth the effort and can be done by anyone who is of average fitness and has sensible footwear. Recommend this trip if you want to see the real Gran Canaria in the company of a knowledgeable and entertaining guide.
All i can say is that i don't usually go on such tours but i was really glad i did this one. Superb value. good food and drink. good company. excellent guide and stunning views. Book now!

Great day trip to see lots of Gran Canaria in a day. Loved the small villages we visited and the coffee/wine/orange/cheese tasting. The group was about 20 people but that was not too large. We did not have the lunch as our daughter requires a gluten free diet. The walk up to Roque Nublo was a bit rushed for some people as we had to do it in 1 hour to catch up on time lost and road closures.
Gran canaria in a nutshell, a good overview of the island, beautiful nature, great mountain roads and great guide!
Fantastic tour with Pavel. We had 17 people in our group, which was larger than usual, but we all fit comfortably in the min-bus. The bus was air conditioned and comfortable. We were picked up on time at 8:20. The pace of the tour was great. Pavel was very knowledgable about the history of the island and the sites we visited. The itinerary was exactly as advertised. Teror was a lovely quaint town. Tejeda included a coffee and almond bakery stop with beautiful views. The hike up to Roque Nublo was fantastic. We only had 1 hour to do this hike, so we came back about 15 minutes late. It would have been nice to have 1:15 to do the back and forth hike. The lunch stop in Puerto de las Nieves was a bit late in the day. We opted not to do the 7 euro 3 course optional lunch that was part of the tour, because we wanted to wander around the town on our own. We ended up eating a quick lunch by ourselves separate from the tour group. The coffee plantation / wine tasting in Agaete was my favorite part of this tour. I would have never known this place even existed if it had not been for this tour. We were dropped back off near the park at about 6pm. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this tour to anybody visiting Gran Canaria! We were very lucky that we happened to be there on a Tuesday, because I think this tour is only offered on Tuesdays.
Was the highlife of our trip and highly recommended. Loved our driver and tour guide, Antonio and Pavel! Pavel was a great tour guide and Antonio handed those curvy mountain roads like a pro : All the places Pavel took us was a must see Teror, Tejeda, Roque Nublo, Agaete and the coffee planation.
Highlight of our holiday :) tour guide was very informative and knowledgeable, and kept a smile on his face at all times despite a few unpredictable events :) would highly recommend! Great value for money. The farm at the end of the trip was a pure delight :)
