Meet your guide and driver in the morning just outside your lodging in Granada. In a shared tour vehicle with your group, travel into the Mombacho Natural Reserve and Canopy.
Ride in a powerful 4x4 vehicle, specially equipped for the volcanic terrain, through the cloud forest and coffee plantations the cover the slopes of the long-extinct volcano. Keep your eyes peeled and your camera ready to see some of the more than 750 species of flora, 30 species of reptiles, 174 species of birds and 50 species of mammals that make their home in the reserve.
Once at the 4,593-foot (1,400-meter) summit, disembark and marvel at the 360-degree views. Embark on a hike on the Crater trail, which winds around one of the volcano's three extinct craters. During the 90-minute trek, stop at several lookouts to get views over Lake Nicaragua, the colonial city of Granada and the nearby active Masaya Volcano.
At the zip line station, get fitted for a harness and helmet and listen to a short safety orientation. Clip in and zoom off through the cloud forest, overlooking the coffee plantations that thrive in the volcanic soil.
After your thrilling and scenic experience at Mombacho, return to central Granada for drop-off.
