Our guide for this tour, Antonio, was amazing!
we went with Granavision and were picked up outside Plaza Nueva in centre granada by a lovely lady that put us three on a minibus and drove to the tourist centre.
There we were given ear pieces to listen to the guide while on the go, and then smaller groups were formed based on the language or country of origin.
As my parents spoke Italian only, the tour operator was so accommodating as to send us with a spanish group where the guide could speak both languages: Antonio. He was a blessing on this occasion, as the tour gives so much content and information that you want to understand it all to truly appreciate the magic of the place.
Antonio was always considerate to translate for us and I found the pace he kept perfect for not being stuck between too many other groups, as the morning time was pretty busy even in February.
We went to the Nassir palaces first, then had a break for toilets/snack/souvenirs half way through 2 hours in, and then followed to he Carlo V and alcazaba, to finish with the Generalife gardens.
Overall it takes 4 hours from in/out from the gate and given that might be taxing on some people, there are options for those needing a break or some respite. One example was the visit to the alcazaba where the ascent to the main tower was at the discretion of the people wiling to do it. The visit finished with a lovely overview of the gardens and a thorough explanation of the last 300 years of history marking its landmarks that conveys the deep and travailed evolutions of the Alhambra. Antonio was so nice as to give us three a private one on one recap/translation of it all, after the tour was finished, as we weren't in a hurry and were waiting for the minibus to go back down into town. One could tell how he respects and love the whole place. His passion and sentiments in giving little facts such as the meaning of arab verse carved in the marbles here and there, just those most significative, completely changed the whole experience for us. You want emotions and feelings to be there when visiting this place. It screams for them, and a bare indication of what is what while ambling around wouldn't cut it. For these reason I highly recommend Antonio and Granavision tours to anyone going to this magic place.
For general info, definitely choose the morning tour. I cannot even imagine what the afternoon is like, crowd wise. We went in low season, were blessed by the weather that split open to blue skies for the day, and had a comfortable day overall. Lots of people but not too bad. If you go during the hotter months you ABSOLUTELY do not want the afternoon slot.
Also book early in advance!
This was the reason we came to Granada. We paid the entrance fee in advance and had a fabulous guide in Victor. Fascinating tour and very well organised with staggered timed entry so there were never too many people in any one place so easy to take unobstructed photographs. There are no antiquities, furniture or pictures in the Alhambra which I had expected but you experience the history and atmosphere of this fabulously romantic place.
Very well organised tour with helpful staff. Tour guide was knowledgable and entertaining. Amazing place! Tour group was a good size, not too big. Highly recommend.
Alhambra tour was fantastic. Excellent guide and very enthusiastic about everything Alhambra .
Alberto was our guide ... wonderful job.Would highly recommend him.
Make sure to ask for 'Guilubrmo' as your guide. He made the tour a wonderful experience. well educated with Granada History and especially el Hambra palace. Had an amazing tour thanks to this guy.
Fantastic. Victor our guide was extremely patient with questions, and gave us tons of insight in a sweetly droll and endearing way. Also liked the fact Viator paid for our taxi ride from our Airbnb to the welcome center next to the entrance to the Alhambra. Would choose to pay the extra again, to go on a night tour. This tour inspired me to do more research on this priceless world treasure. Be prepared to take lots of pics without a lot of time to dawdle. Wear your most substantial walking shoes. Wished I'd taken a hiking stick with a rubber tip.
AAlberto, our guide, was so knowledgeable about the Alhambra and Generalife. We enjoyed the tour very much. There were a couple locations that I would have liked to stay longer for photo ops but due to the many tour groups coming through that wasn't possible. Overall, it was a great experience and Alberto was an excellent personable guide.
This was a very good tour lasting 3 hours. Due to the small number we had an English/Spanish language tour which was not a problem. Our pick-up location was Plaza Nueva. A person came to get us and we walked a short distance to the bus which took us to the tour office near Alhambra. There is a lot of walking on this tour - about 3-4 km. After the tour we had lunch at the parador on the terrace.
Excellent tour picked up and dropped off at hotel. Our tour guide, Miranda was very knowledgeable and made the tour interesting.
Our tour guide, Alberto, was excellent...very informative and easy to listen to. We briefly were got separated from the group It was crowded that day. and he came and found us. Amazing ceilings ...carvings looked like snow with blue highlights falling but stopped in mid flight. Beautiful gardens and surroundings.
Gus our tour guide was awesome - entertaining and educational tour of a beautiful historical structure we never knew existed prior to our visit to Granada. Would highly recommend to others.
Our tour guide was friendly, humorous, and very knowledgeable! This was a fantastic experience!
This is an absolutely amazing visit. Even though it's late summer, the gardens are amazing. It's a must do in Granada. Eduardo is such a good guide. He is very knowledgeable and friendly and considerate of the slower members of the group. He made sure we had a drink and toilet break. I am confident to make this a highly recommended tour. Go do it!
Highly recommended. We had two children with us 13 and 8 and they managed to walk the 4km. Need to be able to walk, climb steps etc for this tour but really worth it. Just beautiful and a must see in granada - Victor our tour guide was great.
I was very happy with the tour and also our tour guide. Very happy.
We covered all the sightseeing areas at a easy unrushed pace of walking. Seen more sights than I expected.
Excellent tour. All inclusive with pickup and drop off at hotel.
Our tour guide, Esther, was so full of information about the Alhambra. What a beautiful, historical place.
I have visited the Alhambra a few times in the past, but this was the first time with a guide. The whole experience, from pick up at the hotel, the quality of our guide Antonio who was friendly knowledgeable and very efficient, was truly excellent and our whole party of 6 thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Would strongly recommend.
Pick-up and drop off just as stated. Very good. Guide to Alhambra Marina top class. Only disappointment was that we had to leave!
The young man who guided us round the Alhambra was excellent. He spent a long time explaing the palaces etc and we were happy to give him a substantial gratuity. We were dismayed by the parsimony of some of the other people forming our group and felt sad they evidently did not appreciate his worth.
The arrangement for Viator to collect and return us to our hotel worked efficiently. I commend this company to fellow visitors.
