The tour was great and our guide was very kind and knowledgeable. We booked the English tour but it ended up being a bilingual tour. Our guide Natasha made sure that each group received equal attention which made me very happy because sometimes a tour like this can become lopsided.
We had a great English-speaking tour guide. She added a lot of humor as well as all the history that we could imagine. Had lots of fun and the place is amazing!
We had an excellent tour of Alhambra and Generalfe Gardens! This tour was perfect because we walked right in! Several people waited in a very long line! Our guide was very knowledgeable! Highly recommended if visiting Granada!
This was the hightlight of my trip to Granada. The tour guide was excellent! very knowledgeable!! I recommend this tour to anybody who visits Alhambra. Must do!!
Although when I scheduled our tour I was apprehensive that it would not be worth the price I paid, I was not disappointed. The guide was excellent, he was knowledgeable, easy to hear and understand and somewhat witty. We learned much in our tour, not only about the buildings and architecture, but much about the culture that produced this magnificent complex. I feel very happy I made this investment.
Amazing! Highly recommend it. It would of not been the same experience without a guide. It is a must do hands down!
This is an amazing place. Definitely use a tour guide as there, is so much to see and understand. It was well worth it getting there early. There was a little coffee shop at the entrance where we grabbed a quick coffee and pastry while waiting for our tour to organize. Bring a few snacks and water as not many places to eat. This is a must see while in Granada!!
The magnificence of the Alhambra, the history and its importance were brought to life by Juan, our guide.
Juan speaks with knowledge and has a great sense of humour.
Definitely a highlight of our trip.
The 8am start was perfect...not too hot and not too busy!!
Absolute favorite of the entire trip. Again you have some amazing tour guides that are so knowledgeable. I felt bad for people doing on their own. They just didn't get the entire experience.
Juan was our guide, he was great!! Best to do this tour at 8am so you miss the crowds 10/10
The palace and gardens are vast, beautiful and so fascinating! I was really glad I booked the morning tour--it's less busy and cooler if you're going during the summer months. And Maria Carmen, our tour guide, was knowledgeable and friendly. She made the 3 hour tour fly by! Highly recommend!
The tour guide Maria Elena was excellent. She had a great personality, was very guest-focused, and full of knowledge. All was on time and we loved the tour.
Loved getting in early before the crowds! We had a large group, but the earphone system worked well to always hear our guide, Maria. Maria was excellent, with a wealth of knowledge about the Alhambra. She really looks after her clients and explains everything in detail. The only thing I would change is to add an optional activity-- access to the Palace after the general tour for an increased price.
Really great tour - very informative! I would highly recommend this tour.
This was our 1st visit to Alhambra and I am glad we took this guided tour. Juan our guide was young, informative, energetic and fun. He interplayed the historical events with thought provoking comments allowing us to feel what life would have been like in a day in the life of its inhabitants. Juan pointed out the happy time when Christians and Islamic peoples could share this place. An underlying theme came through, the significance of water to the city's existence and ultimate downfall because the lack of it. We took the early morning tour 8:00-12:00 and I was glad we did. We avoided most of the heat of the day and the crowds were quite manageable. Prepare yourself for a lot of walking carry water and stair climbing if you desire those magnificent views from the towers of the castle. There are also great views of Granada and the countryside, beautiful gardens, and architecture on level ground. We rode the C3 bus up from, and down to Granada. You can pick C3 up off the Isabella and C. Columbus square near a hotel. We loved Granada, saw Flamenco on Cuesta de Gomérez, and found great souvenirs at Manuel Marillo Castille's shop directly across the street he's been in the shop 50 years. Tapas and wine, great food, and pleasant conversations with Manuel our waiter at Mila Grosa restaurant. I miss being there already.
I would definitely recommend doing this tour. The 8am tour is well worth it as you avoid the large crowds.
Juan was a great guide and had extensive knowledge on Alhambra and Generalife.
The tour was well organised and allowed plenty of time to take photos.
So glad we booked the guided tour with priority access of the amazing Alhambra Palace and Generalife Gardens in Granada, the guide was well informed, and made the tour interesting and fun. Regular toilet breaks made it easier - you did not get bored with just a continual blurb. We booked the early tour with an 8 am start, would advise this as the palace gets very hot as the day goes on and it took approx. 4 1/2 hours to complete the whole tour. We were all issued with head sets so no one misses a word the guide is saying, our guide was happy to take the tour at the groups pace.
The views are breathtaking and the gardens are amazing. Remember to book well in advance as footfall is limited, I would not leave it less the 8 weeks before you plan to go as tours fill up and you might not get the time / day you want. We were staying in the Albazin area and it took us 30 mins to walk up to the meeting point, this is a steep walk so be prepared.
Booking through Viator made the process easy and safe, with a printable voucher.
We arrived in good time for our 8am tour and managed to park our car quite close to the entrance. There was coffee, refreshments and toilets facilities available on our arrival before the tour began. Our tour guide Natasha called out all names and welcomed us all. She apologised in advance that she would be doing the tour in English and Spanish so everything would be explained twice. This was slightly distracting but enabled the English speakers to take advantage of photo opportunities whilst she was explaining things in Spanish to the others. The tour lasted approx 3 hours and I would highly recommend you book the early tour as it got very busy as we were leaving, in fact we heard over the tannoy that all entrance tickets had sold out, that was at 11:15am. Book a tour..... it was very informative. The gardens were beautiful this time of year.
Great tour of an incredible place. No wonder it is described as a place not to miss. Such a vast area to cover but with a few timely breaks built in made it feel quite leisurely. Even though it was quite a long tour, the time seemed to pass very quickly.
This was a FANTASTIC tour! We had to get there early but it was sooooo worth it!!! The Alhambra was one of our favorite places in Spain. The Gardens were a beautiful sight. Our tour guide was very knowledgable and nice. I would recommend this tour highly.
Good tour, our tour guide Juan was very informative, and answered all questions that was asked. Pace of the tour was very good. There was thirty people in our party and we were supplied with radio headphones to hear Juan's commentary, these worked perfectly, with no faults. The inside of the Alhambra can only be described as superb, you won't be disappointed. Many people have said that the palaces should be included in this tour, but you would need 8 hours to achieve this, ansd this would be too long for a walking tour, this tour was 5 hours and and covered many aspects of the Alhambra, that was long enough. Recommended.
The tour was perfect for us! Our tour guide, Ana Garcia, was a doll un amor!. She was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about her subject that we learned a great deal. The pace was perfect despite the large number of people in our group. Ana was especially patient with some more difficult personalities we had the misfortune of joining our group who complained because the didn't bother to read the inclusions and exclusions of the tour. She additionally provided suggestions for post-tour activities that were very helpful and helped us enjoy the rest of our visit. The Alhambra itself is HUGE and requires quite a bit of time to visit thoroughly. My suggestion is to break up your visit into more than one, making sure to visit different sections each time. Be sure to book your reservation MONTHS in advance or you won't get in.
Juan did an excellent job teaching us about the history. This place is so beautiful. Everyone had told me it was amazing but it far exceeded my expectations. You don't want to go without a tour guide, you learn so much. Also the lines are ridiculous without it. Well worth the money!
