Why Travelers Choose This Tour
A helicopter tour gets you away from the crowds for unbeatable views of the canyon.
I did a solo trip to the Grand Canyon (South Rim) after a business trip in Phoenix. This helicopter tour was by far the highlight of my trip - well worth the money. I visited in January and got very lucky with the weather. Our tour guide/pilot was very personable, knowledgeable, and funny.
Trip got knocked down to 25 minutes after we booked 45 minutes - but it was because of the weather and poor visibility . Otherwise everyone one the ground staff was courteous and helpful. Our pilot BJ was skilled at flying extremely knowledgeable about the Canyon, and kept us thoroughly entertained throughout the flight!
This was a surprise birthday gift from my wife. The whole experience was delightful. My son flew into AZ the night before - this was also a surprise! We drove up from Prescott to do our 2:00 pm flight. We found the Maverick building at Grand Canyon Airport without a problem and had a speedy check-in. Unfortunately, due to weather conditions our flight was canceled. The customer service rep stated they may have a 4:30 pm opening and sure enough the weather passed and we were able to get our flight in. Our pilot, Chris, was amazing with his knowledge of the canyon and the places he flew over. It seemed like we were in the air for five minutes, not forty-five minutes. This was my second time flying around the Grand Canyon and no doubt it will not be my last. Everyone at Maverick was courteous and professional and will be my choice for subsequent flights.
Its a fun, non-crowded, way to see the grand canyon. If you get stuck in the middle in the back row you don't have great views. A Sun filter is a must for your camera for decent photos. It's expensive, but a bucket list thing to do. And kids don't have much of an appreciation 4 the experience.
We had a 12.45 pm scheduled tour which got postponed due to weather to 4.30pm. we showed up at 4pm and we were right away taken for the flight. Luckily me and my parents got the front seats alongside the pilot Robert. The views are mesmerizing and Robert was very knowledgeable of the Grand canyon and the kaibab forest. The tour lasted exactly for 45 min. Maverick Helicopters offered great and friendly service. After shopping around a lot, I was able to get the new member discount with Viator and got this tour for $249.9 per person. Great deal and awesome experience.
We've never been in a helicopter before so we were a bit nervous. But the helicopter was very comfortable and the ride was smooth, so NO PROBLEM! Employees were great, pilot fantastic, facilities and helicopter excellent. The ride of a lifetime! I know it's not cheap but it's worth every penny. My attitude was you got to do it once, but it was so much fun I may do it again!
We had a great pilot and an excellent time! The trip was just as it is described. It was all so professionally done that we felt safe. Of course the scenery was above expectations...amazing. In order to really
