Great time, Alejandro was very knowledgeable as a guide, and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.
Freddy, our guide, made this trip fantastic. He knew history, geography, flora an fauna. Well spoken and well traveled. Would take a tour with him anytime anywhere. Some minor confusion about lunch and dinner, but Freddy was in contact with some one during the whole trip and made it all work. A real professional !!!!!
This tour was well worth the money. We saw beautiful scenery along the way and the volcano was magnificent. Our guide Hugo was very nice and knowledgeable. The hot springs were simply awesome. Great trip!!
Our guide Freddie was excellent and showed us a lot of information that we would not have known about while walking through the rain forest. If I had to say something negative about the trip though it would be that we did not need to stay at the hot springs park we were brought to for 2.5 hours. That was way too long. Otherwise really could have asked for a better trip.
Our experience was great! Our tour guide Rainer was very knowledgeable and provided an exceptional tour. It was a clear day so we could see the volcano.
Beautiful drive! Toad hall food was amazing! Fish tacos. Jungle hike was awesome.
It was a very good tour. Only we didn't see a top of volcano. It was raining non stop. Everything else was good
Brian, the tour guide as great. Friendly, personable and knowledgable
First of all, the ride from guanacaste is a 4 hour ride and parts of it are very windy and bumpy so brace yourself for the travelling portion. The lunch at toad hall was very authentic costa rican food and it was delicious. When we got to the park, the view of arenal volcano is wonderful. The hike through the rain forest was just ok...there wasn't much wildlife for us to see while there. But the trip to baldi hot springs afterwards was pretty great. At first I wanted to set up a trip with tabacon hot springs but I was impressed with Baldi. It was great. And to cap it off, we had a buffet dinner at the top of baldi springs overlooking the volcano so all in all, the trip was totally worth it.
Amazing scenery. The drive is long, but they stop for lunch and dinner. I really enjoyed the Baldi hot springs, and just seeing the area. However, there is very little about the actual volcano - we just drove past it, and since it's quiet now, there wasn't much to see. Some members of our group did the zip lining and said it was the most amazing experience of their lives - the lines are long and very high up, so they said it was just like flying. I went on the nature walk, which was not as much fun, and a bit strenuous. Some places are steep and require you to step on an off rocks. If you can easily step up onto a kitchen chair, you'll have no problem. If you can't, don't go on this hike.
be advised: it's not a real climb to the volcano, and not 'real' hot springs! Still an unbelievable experience, but you're seeing volcano from a distance (rain forest = clouds!), and the 'hot-springs' is an artificial one, within a hotel's water park…
Our tour guide was very knowledgable. I expected the Hot Springs to be in a more natural setting instead of at a resort so I was a little disappointed.
The description of the trip needs to be changed. The volcano hasn't been active in 5 years, so don't plan on seeing a fiery show of lava or even hear thunder of it because it hasn't happened. That was the first thing the Tour guide told us. VERY DISAPPOINTING!! They shouldn't still be advertising this on this website. The hot springs are very nice man made pools at a hotel and spa, so if you are thinking you will get to encounter the hot springs in the natural state, again you will be disappointed. The springs area is nice, but again the description of this trip is very WRONG! It was very cloudy the day we went so we couldn't even see the base of the volcano, but that wasn't anyones fault. Still had a great day. Just be ready for a very bumpy, very scary ride because the drivers are a little crazy behind the wheel.
The food was amazing! We stopped at a place called toad hill for lunch. It was the best meal I had my whole trip. The drive to the mountain was rough, some of us got car sick. The hike through the rain forest was nice but uneventful. We got to see some monkeys and plants. The volcano has been dormant since 2011 so we did not get to see a show during dinner. I wish we knew this because we probably would of done the shorter tour that didnt include the dinner. The hot springs were relaxing but we were bored of it after a hour and we had 4 hours there :(. The tour guide could of been better, he didn't talk much. Just said if you have questions ill answer them, then he slept for most of the ride there and back.
This tour had a bad start from the very beginning. We we're suppose to be picked up from our resort on Monday morning and no one showed up. When called they said they didn't receive our reservation even though we had the confirmation number and did call to reconfirm on Sunday. After a long rough argument they booked us on next day with some other tour. Did not see any volcano or anything close to it. We saw some mountains far away and was told that's the volcano but covered with clouds. Certainly not worth wasting money with this company. They don't deliver what they write on their website. Big disappointment.
The promo is misleading. The drscription needs to be changed. I went for the hike and we barely walked an hour. Did not even do half the walk. The hot springs portion was too long. A little disappointed.
