Spend in a Druze kitchen with a 7-hour Druze cooking class in Daliyat El-Carmel, and learn to prepare a traditional menu from scratch. Cook alongside Chef Nora in her home kitchen, where you’ll start the day with fresh pita and Druze tea, then make a series of classic recipes for a multi-course lunch. This small-group Druze cooking class is limited to 15 people for a personalized experience.
Make your way to the chef’s house in Daliyat El-Carmel, where this cooking class begins at 9:30am (hotel pickup can be arranged at an additional cost if desired, please inquire upon booking). Sit down to a morning snack of Druze tea, homemade pita bread, and labane, or fresh cheese, and go over the day’s schedule and recipes.
When you’re ready to cook, tie on an apron (that’s yours to keep as a souvenir), and join Chef Nora in the kitchen. You’ll make a traditional menu that includes rice mansaf, or rice with lamb, cabbage salad, okra cooked in a flavorful tomato sauce, tahini with ground lamb, stuffed grape leaves, stuffed cabbage, and atayef, a rich, sweet, stuffed pancake.
After cooking this Druze feast, sit down to enjoy what you’ve made. Following the lunch, you’ll have some free time to explore the Daliyat El-Carmel market on your own before returning to Chef Nora’s house to collect your apron and the day’s recipes, so you can recreate the day’s flavors in your home kitchen.
