Peggy's Cove

Day 1: Halifax Oak Island (B, D)
You’ll be picked up in Halifax for a drive to Peggy’s Cove, a charming, rustic fishing village on St Margarets Bay. Enjoy breakfast here before continuing along Nova Scotia’s South Shore to Lunenburg, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed port town renowned for its fleets of Grand Banks fishing schooners.

On your guided walking tour, you'll fully experience one of the most remarkably preserved colonial settlements of the New World. Learn about the town’s renowned fishing heritage at the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic (admission included) and have free time for lunch (own expense) before continuing your journey to Mahone Bay.

In this postcard-worthy town, known for its history of wooden boat building, you'll have free time to stroll around and chat with locals, who have been known to share legends, stories and superstitions about the town's bootlegging days.

After your time in Mahone Bay, you'll be taken south past Western Shore and across the water to Oak Island. Your guide will tell you about the fascinating legends of this renowned island, noted as the location of the ‘Money Pit’ -- the site of supposed treasures! Several excavations over the last 200 years have reported buried man-made artifacts.

Enjoy a relaxing overnight stay at a peaceful seaside resort offering serene views.
