This trip was amazing. Our boat had only 12 guests on board so we all shared one big dining table. The food was exceptional. 7 courses for each meal.
Our Rep was 'Jackie Chan' he was great and ensured everything ran smoothly. We went swimming in the afternoon but we had a choice of kayaking, swimming or going to a local floating village.
As there are so many companies to choose from it was pure luck that we picked this one and what a good choice it turned out to be.
P.S. They even extended the Happy Hour until 9pm which was good as the drinks were a bit pricey!
This was such a great start to Vietnam and such am amazing place to see. You'll love just cruising around with a drink in your hand just taking it all in and the food is great as well. This tour is a must if you intend to visit Vietnam. This was by far the best thing I did in Vietnam and will be something I remember for a very long time.
Great time with the folks on the cruise. Guide was nice. Food was extravagant but not super Vietnamese. A little pricey, luxury accommodation.
Just loved this...Incredibly well organised and a fantastic place. Halong Bay has the most amazing topography and I cannot think of anywhere else in the world you would see what you see here. I have read previously where it has been dirty but I did not see it. Also, it added to the ambience to have the other cruise junks there at night. I also found the cabinsexcept the bed very comfortable and the shower amazing and the staff and food were wonderful Definitely 5 Star!!
This was by far the swankiest thing I did on my trip to Vietnam and I must say it was worth every penny. Be prepared for a long bus ride and a stop at a ridiculous tourist trap don't buy anything there- you can get it on the street for 1/10th the price, but the cruise was absolutely fantastic. The food was great and the accomodations were spacious, comfortable, and clean. The planned activities were also the perfect amount of time to experience everything but not get bored. Also, the tour guide spoke fantastic English and had a great sense of humor.
It was a great trip. The staff were very accommodating and responsive by phone or by email. They were also able to accomadate our special request which helped us immensely. A great way to see and enjoy the bay with very knowledgable staff and a lovely boat to sleep in. Great food and great activities.
Zoom was an amazing tour guide. He was very knowledgeable, hospitable, and spoke English very well. The car ride to Halong Bay is around 4 hours each way. Overall extremely beautiful and awesome experience. I was with a group of 6 people and they accommodated our needs and exceeded our expectations.
The bus was on time when picking us up and the staff were all really nice and helpful. I told them I am vegetarian and they prepared special meal for me. The itinerary was according to the schedule and we had so much fun with kayaking in the cave. The meal was also nice and fresh.
It was a really nice experience. Just have two suggestions:
1. Please don't oversell the experience. And this i say to the guides there. Tourists don't need to eb constantly reminded how beautiful the place or the boat is. They can see it for themselves.
2. Secondly, I didn't like the fact that the staff took extra care for the first meals and by the time we reached the last meal, it was like they were in a hurry to get us off. No napkins provided either, inspire of me asking them for the same! And they were setting up the table for th next batch - beautiful napkins laid out in front of my eyes after having refused me. :- Not a big deal, but didn't expect this callousness
Boat looked pretty tired from the outside and the rooms although pretty simple were comfortable - wasn't quite as deluxe as advertised.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The advertised 3 hour journey from Hanoi is actually 4 hours and unfortunately stops on route at a gift shop.
With the exception of the stunning scenery the highlight of the trip was the amazing food at every meal - lots of variety and choice and all beautifully presented.
Although the onboard wifi exists no-one was able to connect to it.
Went in late January, which meant heavy rain. Despite that, still had a good time cruising around the Bay. Couldn't go Squid Fishing or Tai Chi, but did go kayaking and caving. Food was good and the service is good. Company is responsive to emails and arrangements.
When we arrived at the pier and looked at all the ships that were in the harbor, ours was the worst looking one in the harbor. The ship was very old and looked like it needed to be placed in dry dock. It did not look like the ship in the advertisement on Viator. The food was very good and plentiful. The rooms were comfortable although they showed the wear of many years of service. The tour guide that had picked us up from the hotel and took us to the ship and stayed with us was wonderful.
