An absolutely wonderful experience! Aside from the natural beauty of the area, the food on our trip with exceptional, our guides were very friendly, knowledgeable and humble, and the cruise was as relaxing as possible.
It was a little foggy on our trip, but it is a beautiful area. The caves were a little congested, as expected since this is a prime tourist area, but it was well worth the visit.
The staff were very friendly, boat was clean and rooms large and pleasant. Our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. The scenery was amazing. We kayaked for a while. The caves were a must and the climb to the top of Ti Top also well worth it for the view.
Really enjoyed everything about this trip. The food was amazing and plentiful. All activities were great, enjoyed the kayaking, visiting the beach and going to the cave. All staff were very helpful and our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the area. Was a bit of a drive to Halong bay from Hanoi but worth it.
We had such a gorgeous time at Halong Bay. Would highly recommend this trip to everyone.
The tour was so organized and efficient. From the pick-up at our Hanoi hotel, to the transport to Halong Bay, to the activities, food and drink absolutely delicious and the staff so accommodating, friendly and knowledgable, I would highly recommend this tour to anyone. Very pleased and even wrote about it on my personal blog site.
If you are planning to do the Halong Bay cruise, I highly recommend this Overnight Cruise. The itinerary was excellent, well planned and you'll get to see as much of Halong Bay as you wanted. The crew were nice, well trained and professional. the Boat is not new but the rooms are well kept and clean. The food on board the cruise was excellent too! activities includes kayaking, trekking the caves, making your own rice paper roll, massage optional and Tai Chi class in the morning. If the weather is good, you'll get to see beautiful sunset and sunrise. Don't forget to bring along your swimming costume/trunk, sunblock, zip lock bag to protect your camera/phone during kayaking and shoes for trekking up the cave. value for money and highly recommended.
A phenomenal expirence. The overnight cruise is just the right amount of time to enjoy everything. A must if you have more than 3 days in Hanoi.
Fantastic food, great tour guide who was pleasant and funny but also informative. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. The bathroom was great, huge shower with hot water. I really enjoyed the activities of visiting the caves and the kayaking. if anything I would have loved to do more kayaking as I found it very relaxing and enjoyable. Overall it was a great experience that I would recommend to friends and family who traveled to the area.
It almost started with a disaster as we never got any email from the tour company to confirm where the pick-up point would be, especially we arrived in Hanoi on Sunday late afternoon and the tour was the following day. Luckily a receptionist at our hotel made the call to a specific person whom on duty on Sunday and arranged the pic-up at our hotel lobby. The tour itself was great and on time with the itinerary schedules. With a small group of people we enjoyed the beautiful scenery of Halong Bay. A trip of a lifetime to take for everyone who comes to visit Hanoi Vietnam.
Excellent experience overall: attentive and competent staff, interesting itinerary, very good food.
Our best memories from Vietnam are on this boat, sailing in the Ha-Long bay. Beautiful boat, friendly and helpful staff, nice guide speaking good english, delicious food,... And everything in the middle of the amazing Ha-Long bay. Must go place in the world.
Everything about this was Excellent. I strongly recommend this tour!
The cruise was lovely. It was very busy and filled with activities but there was an option not to partake as well. The ship is okay, the rooms are rather small but clean. Our guide Hai was absolutely fantastic and very entertaining. I think it is good value for money to go see Ha Long Bay for real. There was plenty of good food, though it was a bit trickier for a vegetarian.
Lovely small ship with character. Very friendly, helpful staff. Beautiful area, will worth doing this trip
The boat was definitely not the one pictured, but also wasn't the worst looking one in the harbor either. Everything on the tour was nice but the flexible schedule often meant that we weren't exactly sure when or where we were going, making it hard to decide how you may want to pass your time. The fishing village was underwhelming but I highly recommend the Surprising Cave. The drinks were not as expensive as described in other reviews, with beers being less than 2 USD and cocktails being significantly more. They also had a corking fee if you brought your own wine or liquor. One thing that we weren't prepared for was the driving distance to and from Halong Bay and Hanoi. It was about 4 hours each way and not exactly what we were looking for after being on a plane for 20-something hours the previous day.
Cruise service and food was really good. Lots of options and delicious food. Host and crew on board very friendly. Cruise infrastructure was a little bit run down but seemed a constant when looking at other cruises. This is a cozy one as only has a few rooms.
The staff both the guide and the crew were excellent. But the boat is in a very poor condition. We were rushed to all the places we visited and the food wasn't great either, although the crew/guide try to please you as much as possible if you have special requests.
It's difficult to give a 1 Star rating because Halong Bay is so beautiful. This is my second time going to Halong bay and this experience was very disappointing compared with the first time. The tour company forgot to pick us up at the hotel, after we called 3 times someone finally showed up in a Taxi and took us to a bus that was waiting. From that point on the trip felt more like a summer boot camp than a relaxing vacation. There was almost no communication other than telling us that we had 10 minutes to prepare for the next activity or that the meal would be served in 5 minutes. The Kyaking part of the trip was done in near total darkness and the squid fishing was basically 3 bamboo poles thrown on the table after dinner. I have done this same trip with other tour providers and the experience was much better. The boat itself was nice but the overall experience was disappointing because of the tour operator.
Booked this for family of 10. Though it's indicated local contact Halong cruises, it seems like JOURNEY VIETNAM was the agent who booked us on V'Spirit Cruise Another Agent. The Customer Support staff, Hien claimed so.
Tour Guide, Mr Duong, arrived on time to pick us up. He was helpful throughout the trip.
V'Spirit is an old and run-down ship, with dark themed interior deco black and red. The rooms were not properly cleaned or maintained. These were findings in our 5 rooms booked - Bed was sandy Air-cond not working In-room slipper was recycled not new see pic.
Disappointed that we were not on scorpion cruise boat as we booked. It seems that scorpion can outsource if you buy discounted booking. Would not recommend Scorpion cruises on this basis. The cruise we were put on we could have brought direct a lot cheaper. Not impressed feel ripped off
Note from Viator:
We would like to explain the reason we put guest to another cruise as because of the 29 August the Scorpion Cruise was in maintenance and they actually not run on this day. The cruise we book to replace for guest is Phoenix Cruise surely have better services and even ranked higher than Scorpion cruise on Tripadvisor.
