Begin your tour by meeting your guide and group at the workshop location in central Helsinki. Meet your workshop instructor and get an introduction to upcycling, its history and some methods of construction. See some examples of things you can create, along with step-by-step instructions on how to produce your own design souvenir out of recycled materials. A portion of the proceeds from your workshop go to hosting free workshops for refugees and underprivileged children.
Follow your workshop with lunch at a local trendy restaurant (own expense) and visits to some nearby secondhand shops in Kallio. This portion of the tour is independent; you'll get a list of restaurants and shops from your guide.
Meet up with your group and guide in the afternoon for your city walk, where you'll see Helsinki's landmarks and learn about Finnish music. As you walk, you'll listen to tunes on a high-quality audio system that help tell the story of Finland's history. See the Rock Church, the Presidential Palace, the Uspenski Cathedral, the Esplanades, and other highlights.
