What You Can Expect

Helsinki Shore Excursion: Hop-On Hop-Off Sightseeing Tour

Helsinki Market Square

When your ship docks in Helsinki, step onto your open-top, double-decker sightseeing bus to view the major sights of Finland’s vibrant capital.

Overlooking the Gulf of Finland, Helsinki teams rich history with an easy-going, urban vibe. The city’s buildings speak of its time under Russian and Swedish rule, while its maritime heritage adds an extra, interesting dimension to its history.

Admire top Helsinki attractions such as Senate Square – crowned by Helsinki Cathedral – and the Lasipalatsi building, a modernist masterwork created in the 1930s. Perhaps hop off to visit the Temppeliaukio Church, the 1960s rock-hewn underground church otherwise known as the Rock Church; or leave the bus to experience the Market Square, Helsinki’s most international and famous market.
Your ticket is valid for 24 hours and lets you sightsee as you wish. Stay aboard for the full, roughly 1.5-hour loop while listening to the audio commentary, or hop on and off as you please at any of the 18 stops to explore on foot.

The buses were waiting just outside the terminal entrance and we did the whole route just soaking in the attractions and beauty of Helsinki. The second time around we got off the Tempelliaukio rock church. Decided to bypass the Sibelius monument which was visible from the street and got off at Senate square which was a bustling area..had coffee there. Walked to Market square to buy some souvenirs and enjoy the beautiful day at a park nearby. We caught the bus at Senate square to go back to the ship before 2 pm as the ship was leaving at 4 pm.

We booked this Hop-on-off from Viator and not from our cruise ship and we were so glad we did. The customer service in Helsinki's Hop-On-Off is one of the best I've dealt with. The stops were wonderful and we didn't have to wait long at any stop for the next Hop On ride. And when we were ready to go back to the cruise ship ... someone was there to take us in no time at all. Thanks so much for helping to make our Helsinki experience one we won't forget for a long time!

Cruise terminal. Had to walk a short distance outside the terminal gates to board the bus, but it left on the dot even with only 8 passengers onboard. Bus came at 15-20 minutes intervals.

An easy way to see Helsinki, if your time is limited. With many stops and frequent buses, we were never rush to see the sights we wanted to see. Many different languages were available.

Great way to see the highlights of Helsinki and get on and off when something interested us. Def a must and you can then decide where you want to and spend time.

Our guide Anastasia was wonderful. Unfortunately, we were late getting off of the boat so Marina herself met us and helped us catch up with the tour. It is definitely worth it to book with a small group because we were in a smaller vehicle 8 guests and could maneuver around more easily. Our driver was amazing! It was pouring down rain but they passed out rain ponchos. We did not miss a beat because of the rain. The included lunches were very authentic. I will not go through the entire tour because it went off exactly as planned. I would highly recommend the Marina Wilson tour - it was about half the price of the exact same tour offered by our cruise ship.

Can't tell you anything as wind was too high for us to dock, Was very sorry not to see any of Helsinki I think based on other tours it would be about a 4 or very good.
