We loved our trip to the Mekong and our guide -Typhoon Honey was brilliant. Lots of local information,Sight seeing, fun food tasting, music etc. A great way to get a little flavour of Vietnam
A brilliant Mekong Delta Tour.
The tours are capped for small groups of 9 people.
Larry our Tour guide was very knowledgeable on the history and way of life of locals living on the Mekong Delta. He is a credit to the tour company.
Highlights were the sampan rides, coconut sweets tasting, honey tea and wine tasting, an awesome buffet Vietnamese lunch, Buddhist Temple visit where there are 3 big Buddhist statues, horse and cart ride and the overall.
I booked this tour though Viator via Facebook and found the price comparable, if not cheaper than booking prices within Vietnam.
I would highly recommend this full day tour.
This was one of the highlights of our trip and I would highly recommend going on this day tour. The tour guide was full of information and was the best guide we had out of all our tours.
Fun Fun Fun. Reasonable price, great canoe ride, and good lunch. Excellent day trip.
Fun day trip. Canoe ride was fun. Excellent video opportunity. Lunch was nice. Met people from all over the world. Highly-recommended.
It was a wonderful day, made even better by our guide Kate. She was very helpful, and spoke great English. My only negative comment would be the rush hour traffic feeling when in the sampan boat - you couldn't really enjoy the beauty because it was so crowded, with full boats in front and behind you, and empty boats going the other way to pick up more tourists. The lunch was fantastic!
Excellent very interesting day. Guide was very informative and looked after us well.
An amazing experience learning about the history, culture and life of those living along the Mekong delta pronounced mojito delta like the drink but with a silent J. Our tour guide Tommy hilfinger real name Dang Viet Anh was a wonderful hard working, well spoken, funny and charismatic gentleman who gave us some great facts about the country past and present including the trials and tribulations of his own personal struggle while seeing to our every need.
The tour was well executed and was one of my most favorite days out in Vietnam next to the Cu Chi Tunnels with the same tour operator based in the Siagon office not Hanoi being A-Travelmate Company! . I learnt so much from these beautiful people there is absolutely no way I could sum this up here you just have to do it for yourself!
Day consisted of being picked up between the alloted times on the itinerydon't worry they will arrrive, Saigon is so, so busy with mopeds etc, driving for about 2 hours to the Mekong while taking in the countryside, hearing about the history and stopping off at a Bhuddist temple 15 minutes from the river and getting refreshments. Then taking a short boat trip across to the island to a bee farm, sampling Jasmine tea, royal jelly, honey, peanut sweet snacks, coconut and other local treats. beeing shown bees on a hive plate excuse the pun not mistaken spelling and having the opportunity to hold them. Then seeing a python and holding the gentle soft chap. Listening to tradional music while having some tea, papaya and other fruits I'd never tasted or seen before. Then going on a canoe trip down the creek between the two parts of the island that we saw, having lunch then going on a horse cart ride and going to see a production area of different local alcoholic drinks, sweets and surpirses I won't spoil here - afterwards taking the boat back to the mainland and having a coconut to drink and being taken back to our hotels. Still feeling very humbled and privileged
This was a very professionally conducted tour. David is an excellent guide.
I had the fortune of meeting a very funny yet caring and considerate tour guide who goes by the moniker, Typhoon Honey, whose real name is Dang Quang Phung. You will recognize him upon seeing a man in the distance with a great smile.
As he approached us, I was helping an elderly lady get up, stand, and walk a few slow, easy steps. He didnt know what to make of us. When I told him, she aint heavy, she is my mother, he immediately sprang to action to assist her into the van. In spite of the van being fully seated with tourists, he even encouraged me to bring a wheelchair along.
During the ride to our first destination, an ancient temple, Typhoon would point out the significance of various landmarks along the route, making our entire trip culturally enriching. Having been a tour guide for more than 16 years, he was very knowledgeable and excelled at telling interesting and inspiring stories.
The most challenging aspect was a visit to the Mekong delta, moving my mother from a large motorized boat to a small rowing sampan skiff. He would physically lift, carry, and move her around carefully and comfortably. Without a doubt, Typhoon put my moms safety and enjoyment ahead of everything else without neglecting the needs of other tourists. We learned so much from him about the cottage industry: coconut candy farm, bee farm, banana plantation, and local cooking. We even had a pony ride.
Typhoon Honey had served with dedication and distinction. He was the reason our 8-hour day was very well spent, filled with fond memories and genuine friendship. Thank you!
This was an awesome experience for me and my family. We found the sights and the 5 boat rides very enjoyable. Seeing the way of life of the people in the villages was also interesting. The sweets, different fruits and delicacies and tea were delicious. The lunch was absolutely to die for. Lastly, our tour guide Tommy was fun and indoemative. We definitely would recommend this trip to anyone.
This tour was the best tour we had in Vietnam - amazing experience that everyone should put on their itinerary. Full of adventure, culture and amazing food.
Yeah - good tour. Travel by boat down to delta and stop at local village for lunch. Great way to see the river and you actually go on a tiny boat with a local through one of the narrow side streams which is really good.
This is a small group day tour to the Meekong which is very good value for money. The mini bus picked us up from the hotel and drove the 2 hours to start the day. We had a group of 10 which allowed us to get to know others on the tour.
Overall we had a great day visiting the area, seeing the honey
It was worth our Saturday! Not too early pick up time, we were able to enjoy our breakfast. Our guide speaks good English. We had a great time despite the heat.
Was a decent trip, our guide David Hung was helpful but at times I found it hard to understand his English. The tour left on time. Each stop seemed to be another opportunity to have to tip someone. This should all be included in the price but hey it's only a small amount of money so I wasn't that bothered. Overall a very enjoyable day and good to get out of the city for a bit.
It was okay. There were some interesting things to do p, however it seems like they tried to cram to much into one tour. We barely got to see each activity and the singing was a bit lacklustre. Our guide was very helpful. The boat trip for 2km through the bamboo grove was marred by the constant request for tips. This is even from people who are not helping us. The are quite forceful in this and you are asked for tips at almost each step along the way. Nothing against the company who we booked with as they were very helpful.
Tai Chi 9 was a very informative guide. We had an akward incidence where in my friends in another hotel presented their voucher to the driver and he let them in, without verifying if they were in the right bus. Thus they rode a different bus from us and we had to look for them. Tai Chi 9 was able to figure out where to find them.
The tour was great except they are selling too much items. They should limit the selling of products and just concentrate on the tour.
Nice, easy paced trip with several small activities. This was perfect for us as we brought our 20 month old son along. We also appreciated our tour guide Jack who was knowledgable and friendly.
