Right from the start, our tour guide made us feel most welcome and was very chatty from the outset. Our tour guide, Pine from Vietnam Adventure Tours was brilliant and very knowledgeable on all things Vietnam. He has a fantastic sense of humour and quickly helped everyone in our small group settle in and feel at home.We knew it was going to be a long day when trying to fit in both the Cu Chi Tunnels and the Mekong Delta boat trips on the same day but the day flew by and we comfortably were able to do both excursions and Pine showed us other stuff along the way also. It did take the full day to complete the trip but a lot of the time was spent sitting in traffic. The traditional Vietnamese buffet lunch was lovely and a good experience also. The tunnels was a fantastic experience and really nice to see so you can picture the horror of what actually took place there during the war so I would totally recommend a visit to the Cu Chi tunnels to everyone who visits Saigon! The trip down the Mekong River was fantastic too. First, you go on a bigger boat out onto the river then you swap over onto a small paddleboat where local people paddle you through a more build up area where people live so it was nice to get a feel of what the locals see and do on a day-to-day basis.Overall, I couldn’t recommend this full day trip enough. These are the two most popular trips in Saigon, this full day trip allows you to do both on the same day, and if you are lucky enough to get Pine as your tour guide you are in for a day you will never forget.Good job Pine, you totally deserve a big pay rise and I couldn’t recommend Vietnam Adventure Tours and Viator enough.Hope this helps,Tony
Cu Chi Tunnels were the highlight of this combined tour. Absolutely fascinating although our guide took us through at a very fast pace. Opportunity to fire off live rounds of an AK47 not to be missed ! Afternoon tour of the Mekong Delta was interesting but a bit overly focused on being taken to factory/retail outlets. Limo was good, much better than a coach particularly given the long drive - which traffic wise was a bit hairy at times.
There was only 5 of us but we were rushed. The guide did not provide time for picture taking. Either you take pictures or lose the guide's commentary. Cu Chi Tunnels was very interesting and well worth it. I felt there was more to the experience but the time spent here was cut short. The Mekong Delta boat ride was fun but there was nothing especial on the walking part of the village which took quite a lot of the time.
First off, I'd like to say that we had the most amazing guide. Vu was a super awesome guide! She's knowledgeable, upbeat and so funny! The trip was well planned. Chu Chi tunnels are a work of art and a must visit. After the tunnels we went to the Mekong delta where we experienced the local culture, food, fruits, and local industries. The van was very comfortable. All in all, a day well spent!A big shout out to Vu once again! All the best!
This is how I want to tour every city now! Super comfortable and ice cold!! Tour guide was very knowledgeable. The Cu Chi Tunnels was very interesting. I learned a lot here. It's very humbling and scary to learn about the war methods used. The tunnels itself...I had to do a lot of self talk to get me through just 30m. hahaha... Great experience, but didn't like the mandated government propaganda that we had to watch though before entering. Lunch....was good. Not the best...but sufficient. The Mekong Delta was interesting...from the boat ride to the coconut island...was great. The raft ride through the river ..I did not like. The water was filthy..there were open sewers that filtered into the water and floating trash everywhere. In my opinion, this is a major tourist attraction, they must clean this up!
