Explore the French colonial and wartime history of Vietnam on a full-day tour of Ho Chi Minh City and the Cu Chi Tunnels, a maze-like network where Vietnamese soldiers lived and worked underground. Visit Ho Chi Minh City landmarks including the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Reunification Palace, and the War Remnants Museum, with a guide to share stories about local history and culture. Your tour includes all entrance fees and lunch, with pickup and drop-off at select Ho Chi Minh City hotels.
  • Full-day tour of Ho Chi Minh City and Cu Chi Tunnels
  • Learn about Vietnamese history from a local guide
  • See Ho Chi Minh City’s top colonial-era landmarks
  • Visit the War Remnants Museum
  • Explore a network of tunnels used by Vietnamese soldiers
  • Includes lunch and all entrance fees
  • Pickup and drop-off in Ho Chi Minh City
Meet a driver at your hotel, then board a climate-controlled vehicle for the trip to the first stop of the day, the imposing Notre Dame Cathedral. Take in the brick red Gothic architecture, a dramatic contrast with the buzzing streets below, then cross to the Saigon Central Post Office, a gem of colonial-era architecture.

Step back into the closing days of the war at the Reunification Palace, also called the Independence Palace, known as the place where the Vietnam War came to an end. Take in the staggering impact of the war at the graphic War Remnants Museum, which catalogs the conflict's weaponry and human toll.

Pause for lunch, then leave the city for the Cu Chi Tunnels, passing through a landscape of rice paddies and winding rivers, spotting water buffaloes and water birds along the way. Upon arrival at the tunnels, watch a short video about their history and construction, then spend several hours exploring the maze-like network, which once included hospitals, schools, kitchens, and sleeping quarters.

At the end of your time at Cu Chi Tunnels, pause for a snack of tea and guerilla-style food, then make the return trip to Ho Chi Minh City, where this tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel.

The visit to the Reunification Palace and the War Remnants Museum were interesting, the General Post Office OK and the Notre Dame Cathedral though impressive was only a viewing from the street. We did get some commentary on the bus but most of the time at locations was independent viewing. The lunch location and food was excellent. The trip through countryside to the Cu Chi Tunnels was interesting, and the tour through the area and the commentary provided on how the tunnels etc featured before and during the Vietnam war were fascinating. The advertised several hours exploring the maze-like network however was rather around an hour at the site exploring above ground exhibits and about 100 metres of the tunnels. Overall the day tour was enjoyable but organisation needs some work. Getting started on the morning tour was slow and involved walking to 3 separate locations rounding up people before getting into the bus, and it was confusing that this full day tour comprised some only taking the morning or afternoon segments.
