What To Expect

Start your your with hotel pickup and transfer to Ho Chi Minh Pier where you board a luxury speedboat made of high-quality teak wood. Zip along the Saigon River to the infamous Cu Chi Tunnels, a ride that takes about one hour along tree-lined waterways.

Get great photo ops of life along the river and enjoy unlimited refreshments served on board your speedboat. Morning tours include a light breakfast with lunch while afternoon tours include lunch.

Upon your arrival at the historic Cu Chi Tunnels complex, watch a short introductory film then follow your guide into the winding, underground network for approximately two hours of exploring the war memorial park.

Visit underground bunkers that housed kitchens, meeting rooms, ammunition depots and hospitals, part of the 75-mile-long (121-km) tunnel complex built by the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War (known as the American War by the Vietnamese). View authentic relics from the war such as camouflaged tunnel entrances and a bullet-riddled tank.

After your Cu Chi Tunnels tour, enjoy a traditional Vietnamese lunch at a riverside restaurant, with a menu that may includes spring rolls, chicken and beef dishes, and soup. If you take the later tour, dinner is provided.

After your meal, depart Cu Chi and return by speedboat to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival at the central pier, you will be driven back to your hotel.

Great Tour; Worth the price; Bring Mosquito repellant

Taking the boat ride up and down the river was totally worth the extra money! (1.25 hours each way as opposed to up to 2 hours on the bus). We would strongly recommend taking this tour! Our guide, Hang, had us believing we were Saigon River experts as she shared tidbits going down river toward the tunnels. Once on the site, Hang did a great job explaining the different viewpoints of history by sticking to the facts, always patiently answering questions. In addition to leading us through the woods to see the structures, techniques, and tunnels, she agilely gave demonstrations on how the Vietnamese nationals would so easily attack and avoid the American forces. Going through the tunnel as a nearly 2-meter tall male was enlightening. Bring mosquito repellant!!! And be prepared for the firing range; it is loud. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic the restaurant at the Cu Chi boat dock is closed. So we had to eat lunch at the ROS Yacht Club. The staff was very rude and clearly unhappy that people who had been crawling around in tunnels were in their restaurant. Otherwise, we highly recommend this tour.

Fantastic and very professional excursion, picked up from hotel, informative guide on the Saigon river pointing out interesting points and then to the tunnel system, the same guide was fantastic and come across with a true passion for everything within the trip, we got there early and had a head start before the crowds massed, this was a fantastic way to experience the tunnels and escaping the crowds. book it! you won’t be disappointed.

From start to finish this was an experience to remember. Prompt pick up from our hotel to the river welcomed on board our speed boat and offered refreshments as we departed Wonderful traffic free journey along the river about 1 hour 20 minutes Our experience around the tunnels and other exhibits were enhanced by our expert guide (Boa ) who thoughtfully narrated each part You have the freedom to take part in any or all of the various exhibits including the tunnels and a firing range Following the tour we were given a wonderful lunch before returning by speed boat I thoroughly recommend this trip which is excellent value for money

Speedboat transfer was good although “breakfast” was poor. Guiding was average and although the guide had knowledge it didn’t come across too well. Video history documentary sound quality was virtually inaudible. Poor value for money.

Amazing from start to finish. Pick up time from our hotel was promot l. We got on the boat and were given croissants fruit and water for the journey. The boat took a little over an hour and was very relaxing. The tour guide was amazing (I think his name was hai). He answered every question with great confidence and kept us very much on schedule. We were given an amazing lunch at the end that included a soft drink. On the way back we were given more fruits. The value for money was excellent. Would highly recommend

Cu Chi Tunnels - Mesmerising Experience

I was in Ho Chi Minh City for the weekend with my cousin. Since we had 2 days, we thought of going on a day trip to see some of the sightseeing places recommended by tourists and that's how we decided on Cu Chi Tunnels' trip. We were searching for a travel partner who could help us in booking and finally landed on the Viator page. Since I have travelled through Viator in the past, I was pretty sure about the quality of service provided by them and hence decided to book through them. As always, it was a seamless experience booking through their portal and we did choose the trip which was for about 6-7 hours through Speed Boat. This was the best decision we made! We were promptly picked up from our hotel at 7 am sharp by a Air-conditioned coach, by Kha Nguyen, our Tour Guide from Les Rives - the local partner of Viator. We were dropped at the Pier within 10 minutes and thereafter our journey began in the speed boat with Kha as our guide. It was such an amazing experience cruising in the Saigon River and since we left early, there wasn't much traffic in the waters! We were served breakfast on the cruise, which was tasty and sumptuous! It took about 1 hour and 20 minutes before we reached the Cu Chi Tunnels pier. When Kha started explaining about Cu Chi Tunnels and its history, that is when I realised what the Vietnamese have gone through for about 20 years (1954 - 1973). Cu Chi tunnels is all about Vietnam War and how they fought their enemies. Cu Chi Tunnels covers a distance of about 100+ miles going up to 3 levels underground with its own medical facilities, workshop, kitchen, etc. Kha is one of the best tour guides I have ever come across. He speaks excellent English and has complete knowledge about Vietnam's history and particularly Cu Chi Tunnels. After a good 2-hour guided tour of Cu Chi Tunnels, we were served tasty lunch as per our requirements. After lunch we left Cu Chi Tunnels by 12.15 pm and reached Ho Chi Minh City by 1.30 pm. For all tourists out there who are planning to visit Ho Chi Minh City sometime in the near future, please make it a point to visit Cu Chi Tunnels for sure and that too with this travel partner (Viator-Les Rives and tour guide - Kha Nguyen).
