What You Can Expect

Private Half-Day Tour of Ho Chi Minh City

War Remnants Museum

After hotel pickup in the morning, your Ho Chi Minh City sightseeing tour starts at Independence Palace. Also known as Reunification Palace, the site is a symbol of the end of the Vietnam War, when a North Vietnamese tank crashed through the gates of what was then the home of the president in April 1975.

Head next to the War Remnants Museum, home to exhibits depicting the wars of Vietnam with a collection of weapons, machinery, documents, and photos. After exploring the museum, continue to Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office, two of the city's most famous examples of French colonial architecture. Your last stop is Jade Emperor Pagoda, a Taoist temple built in 1909.

Your tour then ends with hotel drop-off around midday.

A packed and concise tour of the highlights of the city. The guide was good and discussed various aspects of the city, culture and history in a very informed way. It was possibly a bit rushed but it was our choice to put the highlights into a half-day. If you have more time the city certainly warrants it.

Itinerary of the tour itself was good, but our guide spoke English with very heavy accents and she did not offer much help aside from leading us from place to place. In the War museum she simply left us to our own devices for two hours, and lost us in the Reunification Palace. When we asked for help in bargaining with market vendors, she did not offer any advice or translation. It was basically a chauffeured tour, not a guided tour.
