Start your day with a 9am pickup from your central Hobart hotel and set out to take in the highlights of the historic city.
Discover the city’s colonial history as you drive around the old port and enjoy views across the Tasman Peninsula, then get a glimpse of local life at the lively Salamanca Market, and spot landmarks such as the MONA museum, the botanical gardens, and the Maritime museum.
After lunch (own expense), leave the city for a thrilling drive to the summit of Mt Wellington. Along the way, hear stories about ‘The Mountain’, or ‘Kunanyi’ as its known to the local Aboriginal communities, then jump out to enjoy spectacular views over Hobart and the Tasman Peninsula. The 4,163-foot (1,269-meter) high summit is notorious for its icy winds and swirling mist, so be sure to pack a jumper, even in the summer months.
The final stop of the day is the Cascade Brewery, Australia’s oldest brewery, which dates back to 1832. Uncover the secrets of beer making on a guided tour of the brewery, then indulge with an expert-led beer tasting (juices, soft drinks and cordials are available for non-drinkers).
Back in Hobart, your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel around 6pm.
