Small group tour from Hobart was absolutely wonderful and a must see! Our driver and guide, David was a wealth of knowledge and answered our questions without hesitation. We saw the wonderful views from Mt Wellington just as the sea mist started to fill the sky's. Just to warn you, although the temperature in the city of Hobart was about 21 degrees C, the temperature on top of the mountain was 8 degrees C and that was cold. We have to say the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary was the highlight of the tour and cannot be missed! The work they are doing here is a must for the animals and it's the people who visit here that allow these animals to be looked after in the manner they deserve. We saw and petted a Wambat, a Koala and watched the feeding of the Tasmanian Devils and fed the Kangaroos. What an experience! Richmond Historic Village is small and the time allotted not really long enough to do much exploring on your own. All in All.......do it.

Our small group consisted of 5 people. The views over Hobart from the top of Mt. Wellington were stunning. I love wildlife, so the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary was my favorite part of the tour. We got to pet a wombat, hug a koala and hand feed kangaroos. The Tasmanian Devil feeding was a strictly hands off affair. It consumed everything including the bone. We had only an our to see the historic village of Richmond and that included getting a bite for lunch. That's doable if you just get a quick bite to go at the bakery. This compact little village features the oldest Catholic Church in Australia, the oldest stone span bridge in Australia and the oldest intact jail in Australia. We liked the small sized group because we were able to visit highlights of the local area in half the time required by larger group tours.
Tour was excellent. We had a lot of low hanging clouds so could not get the view from Mt. Wellington so Garreth, the owner and operator of the enterprise, took us to alternate sites to see as much of Hobart as possible. Not enough superlatives can be said about Bonorong. The high light of this tour!
It was beautiful experience for us. Due to poor weather the road to Mt Wellington was closed but our tour guide ensured that we didn't miss out and took us up Mt Nelson!! Whist on the mountain we had a snow storm :)

Wonderful trip.I'm not very mobile so to be driven to these places was wonderful
Awesome tour! The owner of the company, Gareth, was our driver and we had him all to ourselves so this was a very special, personalised tour. We visited Battery Park, Mount Wellington, Richmond, Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary and Gareth was kind enough to also take us to a cheese and wine tasting, so the tour end up being almost 1,5hrs longer than planned. Highly recommendable tour!

Well-rounded tour of Hobart - Views, Wildlife and History!!!
We really enjoyed this small group tour of Hobart and the surrounding areas! It had a great variety of sights and activities... Mt. Wellington itself and the view from it's summit was gorgeous! We saw a lot of the Tasmanian landscape along the guided drive before enjoying Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. Kangaroos run wild there, and you are able to feed and pet them for free! We also got the opportunity to learn about and even pet a young wombat and a koala, and see many other animals there such as the Tasmanian Devil and pygmy Possum. We also enjoyed our free time at Historic Richmond... This part of the tour was unguided, but you were given an overview and directions to the attractions. Overall it was a great tour, however, they could have organized the departure times at each site better. And our guide had some issues with his microphone headset...
Viator never fails to impress us. We had a wonderful day after being picked up at the dockside. Our driver was quite a character and was a good laugh although his humour was a little dry at times. He reordered the schedule to make best use of the weather and expected crowds so that we visited the wildlife park when it was less crowded and were at the top of Mount Wellington at the end of the day when the sky was clear. We were back at the dockside in plenty of time to re-board our cruise ship. We have been on several tours organised by cruise lines, but they never compare with those provided by Viator. We have never been disappointed.
Fun trip. We would definitely recommend.

This tour gave us a good flavor of Hobart and the surrounding area. We started with a brief tour around Hobart proper with one stop, then up to Mt. Wellington. Great and expansive views! However, the weather was very cold and we did not have sufficient clothing, so if you're going to go, err on the side of taking more warm clothes than you think you might need. It was overcast and very windy up there so we got some picturesthat were good but not great. Still well worth seeing. Next we went to Richmond, which is a beautiful little town in a lovely setting. We did not have enough time here. Although we should have been able to have some lunch and poke around in a few shops, we barely had time to grab a quick bite. I would probably suggest skipping the stop at the ramparts in Hobart and use that time in Richmond. BTW, by the time we got here, it was shorts and t-shirt weather. We then went to Bonorong and saw the kangaroos, Tasmanian devils, wombats, koala, emus, etc. It was a real treat to see the roos up close and feed and pet them. We would have liked more time here as well, but that just tells you that there's a lot of great stuff to see on this tour and we wanted more!
