What To Expect

Meet your guide and small group of no more than six near Hong Kong’s Mongkok MTR station in the mid-afternoon.

Receive some bottled water, and then set off on foot into this vibrant area, Hong Kong’s busiest shopping and markets district. On route, learn about the area’s culinary scene and make up to seven tasting stops. Dishes and venues may vary.

Visit a speciality roast goose restaurant, and sink your teeth into this succulent favorite served with crispy skin and plum sauce. Then, explore Mongkok’s outdoor food market, absorbing the heady aromas as you peruse the fresh wares.

Try some traditional and contemporary dim sum and bowl of snake soup, a popular meaty broth considered beneficial to health. Sample dao fu fa, a syrup-soaked tofu dessert, and run your palate by various skewered snacks sizzled up at the corner shops and food stands.

Weave through the busy streets, and follow your guide to some popular bakeries to try out some baked goodies. Perhaps finish with one of Hong’s Kong favorite contemporary desserts: a luscious matcha (green tea) and red bean smoothie.

Your 3.5-hour tour ends in Mongkok when your guide departs, leaving you free to explore independently.

We thoroughly enjoyed this interesting and eye-opening walking tour. Our guide, Wiliam, was brilliant, well-informed and helpful. He offered informative comments on everything. The duck, dim sum and baked dessert was excellent and the other food, although a bit strange,representative of Hong Kong food culture. This tour is highly recommended! This was a great tour, and especially good because there were only four of us. The guide was knowledgeable and took us to some very interesting places, including a huge food market. Note that the tour is billed as being four hours, but ours was not even three hours also, make sure that your guide gives you good directions for getting back to your hotel ours waved in some indeterminate direction and then disappeared, so we had to ask several people for directions to the nearest MTR station.

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. We were in a small group and were taken to different Restuarants and stalls in order to experience the different delights on offer. We started with roast goose, then on to a different establishment for Snake Soup, then another for Dim Sum and on and on and on.No dinner needed after this tour! My husband and I have just taken the tour this Saturday and had a blast! Jacky, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and he answered all our questions, and not just about the food. The tour lasted 3 hours and we ate so much food, we were not able to finish it all :- Definitely no lunch before the tour and most likely you could skip dinner too! Jackie has taken us thru wet market to try traditional egg tart and tofu, we also navigated streets of Mong Kok in search of delicious goose and outstanding dim sum. And we even had a snake soup! So the tour is definitely for adventurous people but of course you could just skip some food if you don't like it. Overall highly recommended!
