The intensive tour of Shenzhen was excellent for the most part. Kudos to the tour operator for arranging first class seats on the train and arranging a wonderful lunch at a magnificent restaurant. But, our guide wanted to have us spend three and a half hours at the knockoff market. All of us had had enough after 45 minutes, but our guide was unavailable for a long time, so we waited.

This was mind blowing. Getting to experience a city that is so so new, yet produces so many of the worlds goods. It was fun getting to bargain with the locals and see different qualities of goods just meters away from each other.

Yuka I, Apr 2018
It was a good introduction to China for both me and my daughter. I was not so interested in the shopping part of the trip but i understand that this is how they try to make extra money. The guides were very friendly and helpful and explained many things and were happy to answer questions. The shopping part of the tour we were shown the ''best'' shops to buy from but again I expected this and would not be surprised if the tour and shops have some connection. Anyway it was a nice trip and for anyone else wanted a brief glimpse into China, this would be a good way of doing that :

The tour made me feel that Shenzhen has nothing to visit there. The lunch was given at a restaurant and being a vegetarian we could hardly eat the food served.they could have taken us to any indian restaurant. The shopping experience was bad. They could have taken us to a better mall.Other tour operators were offering lunch at Indian restaurant.

Evelyn M, Jan 2018
Both tour guides were very helpful but it became clear that places of interest were really a tourist pay off. Museum and bamboo factory were both ruses for on site selling- jewellery and cloth takeaways placed up for sale. Group felt lunch was not enough for a group of 10 - we had to ask for additional portions---- customs entry to China took up a lot of our time- seems tour guides said it was a new passport system that was not working. Bus ride to park was interesting but again set up for various park stops. Visit to to tower was ok - fog/smog prevented a good view. Shopping to the mall seemed to please everyone- again certain stores seemed to have favor with the tour guide.

Our Hong Kong tour guide Evone and Shenzhen tour guide Daniel were good. The train trip from Hong Kong to Shenzhen is comfortable since we are riding in a first class train car. Crossing the border of Hong Kong and Shenzhen was easy with the help of our tour guide. The morning tour of Lychee park in Shenzhen was good. Joining the Tai Chi morning exercise by the locals was interesting. The visit to the Chinese Arts and Craft Centre was partly educational and shopping since they will try to sell you jewelry and bamboo fiber articles. The dim sum lunch at Shenzhen Shangri-La was good better than the ones we tried in Hong Kong. The shopping at Lu Wu Commercial Shopping mall was not that great. The prices were not as cheap as we expected. You also need to consider that chinese Yuan is higher than the Hong Kong dollar which make it not as much of a bargain. You need to learn how to bargain with vendors or else you end up paying more. Bargain at least half of the asking price. The time allotted for shopping was adequate for most travelers. So the combination of sightseeing and shopping makes this tour worthwhile.

Our tour guide from Hong Kong to Shenzhen Elton was so wonderful. Everyone in our group really liked him. We really enjoyed our time in the park watching the Tai Chi, the people playing cards and working out. I felt that had the most meaning. The lunch was fantastic and the private room delightful. I really didn't like the bamboo store. I felt like I was in an infomercial and things in there were more expensive than I could purchase at home. The main shopping plaza, I wish I had more time. Love my bags and the pearls for my girls that I bought.

great way to get a little taste of China--2 tour guides were friendly and informed--shopping at the knock off mall is an experience but you have to know your stuff to get high quality

PETER B, Dec 2017
All in all a well-organised excursion. The guide accompanying the group was very helpful and pleasant. The local guide in Shenzhen was also friendly and nice but when he addresses the whole group and he delivers his prepared speeches re locations and sights, his English is almost completely incomprehensible. If you are going for the shopping, do not do so. The shopping centre is large and disagreeable they try to rip off people --identified immediately as foreign tourists-- in every way they can. Besides the quality of their copies' ie counterfeit products is very poor. The guides have their contacts and they will lead you there--however well you bargain though you will end up being tricked.

Tour was as expected, we were kept to a strict regime and time schedule even though there was only 4 on the tour. The Hong Kong tour guide name escapes me was great and knowledgeable, as we went into China so we met up with Aaron the tour guide from the Chinese govt. and he was running it from there. Overall we saw a fair bit of Shenzhen but only what we were allowed to see and also taken to their shopping places, the lunch was first class. I have travelled to China before a few times and have never been under so much control. If you have never been its certainly worth it to learn about how much they have progressed so they keep telling you.

Wonderful!! The tour guides, Ming and Bruce were excellent. The lunch in the Shangrila hotel in Shenzhen was great. The shopping was an unforgettable experience. The visit to the Jade shop and the bamboo shop was so so. The info regarding the history of Shenzhen was well presented and very informative. Overall an experience which we have enjoyed thoroughly and we can highly recommend it.

This tour was exceptional! Thanks to our wonderful guides, Elton and Daniel, the execution was flawless. These guys are incredibly detailed and thorough. They leave nothing to chance. Clearing customs would be near impossible were it not for them. They educate you throughout regarding the culture, sights, history, etc. They even assist you with shopping tips at Lo Wu mall. Don't spend too much money there. Some of my purchases were flawed. Don't forget these are knockoffs and you get what you pay for! All in all, this tour was sensational. Treat yourself to an eye-opening day in Red China with a couple of wise, trustworthy guides and a nice group of people. Highly recommend!
