New Territories of Hong Kong 'The Land Between' Tour

Buddhist Temple in New Territory, Hong Kong

Your all-day New Territories of Hong Kong Land Between Tour kicks off with a visit to Yuem Yuen Institute, where your friendly guide will explain how Taoist, Buddhist and Confucian ideologies have shaped local life. After touring the grounds head back to your coach and make your way to the scenic countryside. Pass vast plantations and rice fields as your head up Hong Kong’s tallest mountain. Stop at Tai Mo Shan for incredible panoramic views.

From there, you’ll head north, past Lam Chuen Valley and Shek Kong before stopping at Fanling Walled Village. You’ll have plenty of time to comb through this traditional rural market where locals sell fresh produce, flowers and spices.

After visiting the market your guide will transport you to the literal space between, near the border between Hong Kong and China. Stop at Luk Keng and then pay a visit to the Hakka Village and bird sanctuary, before driving through Plover Cove Country Park and the Sam Mun Tsai fishing village.

Return to Hong Kong using a different route that transports you past the impressive Chinese University, the town of Tai PO and Sha Tin. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before making your way back to the city.

Very interesting even though the weather was poor. Saw a lot of the area and it was reasonably priced. Irene was knowledgeable and interesting. The location was excellent for cruise ships coming into the ocean terminal. It is just a short walk for the port dock.

Susan is just the best tour guide l have had anywhere in the world including Europe, China, Vietnam, USA,Australia, England, she knows her stuff and presents it in a very professional but personal manner. I recommend this tour to everybody that l know that goes to Hong Kong and when back at the hotel l also recommend the tour to people that we met during dinner ect. The Hakka village is an absolute must see and the main reason why l bought my wife to HK with me this time, thanks Susan.
