This was small group tour 8 led by Ben. The reason for my trip to Hong Kong was to revisit childhood memories of living in Hong Kong, as a young child, in 1963 and I hoped that this trip would enable me to explore the more traditional areas of Hong Kong from this era. I was not disappointed! Along Wing Lok Street and Des Voeux Road West we saw the dried seafoods, sharks fins, birds nests and Chinese medicinal goods. We experenced Dim Sum, Wonton / Beef Brisket Noodle Soup and Char Siu BBQ Pork in places where the locals eat! I was introduced to Yuen Yeung mix of tea and coffee, which I then had many more times throughout my trip. We sampled anoher local treat - the egg tart - yummy! As we walked Ben pointed out key buildings / areas of interest including the longest escalator in the world, which runs a length of 800 meters and climbs 135 meters in elevation! and we also rode a tram. Ben is clearly knowledgable about the area and his love of Hong Kong was clear. An excellent trip that I would recommend if you want to engage with locals and 'step outside' of the usual toursist trips recommended in your tour guides.

This trip was AMAZING! Our guide was fantastic. Most memorable experience in Hong Kong.
Thank you so much. This made the trip.
This was a great tour we loved it. Jess our tour guide was special. She did everything right. Our tour was amazing she showed us all the things that makes Hong Kong foodie tours special. She showed us food store, markets, good food places and even a traditional Chinese pharmacy. She took us to see the grannys that put curses on people. She even made sure that when our tour ended we knew exactly how to get to the star ferry so we could go to the lady market three cheers for Jess the best.
Fantastic walking/Transit food tour taking you over different places in Hong Kong. Our guide was AWESOME!!!!! Laura is extremely knowledgeable and fun and friendly and very motivating. She knows the extra special places to take you and will bring you to authentic, Hong Kong Chinese food. Don't do HK without this tour!!!!
Our family couple and our 18 year old son had a weekend in Hong Kong and we booked the small group Hong Kong Island Food Tour. We didn't have much time in the area and this tour really made the most out of the time we had. The food was excellent, we went to restaurants we would never have found by ourselves and we were the only tourists in them. Between food stops Laura told us about the stores we were passing and explaining how the dried products on display were used in Chinese medicine. We had a ride on the Ding Ding trolley car between restaurants as well. There were 10 in our group, it was a great morning and the first thing we talk about when we tell people of our weekend in Hong Kong. Thanks, Laura for a great tour.
The tour was fabulous b/c the tour guide was SO VERY GREAT!!!!!! Take this tour and have fun!!!!
The food was fabulous!!!
Don't miss this tour. One of the highlight of my stay. Nicole the guide was just amazing!
Nathan was very informative and made everything interesting. It wasnt just a food tour he talked about the history of Hong Kong with a lot of enthusiasm. The food was excellent and from places we would never have found ourselves. He also helped us with other places we wanted to visit. well worth doing.
I can not recommend this tour enough! It truly gave you a true taste of Hong Kong, not only did you eat some amazing authentic food you got to see some local sights and get a feel of how the locals live. Our guide Michael was amazing he was very friendly and extremely knowledge. Best thing to do!!
Super half day small group tour with Michael. Got to visit places which we would never have found on our own and learnt a lot about food, the city and its history along the way. Michael was very up-beat and informative and took great care of each group member along the way.
Would definitely recommend this. Top tip- don't eat too much at the first stop difficult as wonderful dim sum- and arrive very hungry!
Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable of the area and knew the great spots for local food. I would recommend Michael to anyone who is in Hong Kong and wants to do a tour.
We really enjoyed this tour. Nathan was our guide and was knowledgeable and personable. Really enjoyed all the different foods as well as Nathan's commentary. A wonderful ending to our Hong Kong holiday.
I and my wife thought this was a great experience. We learnt a lot about food in Hong Kong and had interesting discussions with Michael an expat who has lived in Hong Kong for decades on all sorts of HK related subjects. It seems ideal to me to go on a walking tour with various stops for food especially as we ended up in a number of places we might never have found without the tour.
This was the best way to start our trip - got oriented to Central HK and enjoyed a very authentic taste of the food here. Our kids 8,10 even enjoyed it. I would definitely suggest this tour to anyone visiting Hong Kong.
The tour was well worth the time. Having the opportunity to see and experience the nooks and crannies of the old Hong Kong and taste local specialties that would be difficult to find on your own was great. And Michael, our tour guide, was razor sharp with his knowledge and whit. Highly recommend this tour.
Michael was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The food was delicious and places we would have never tried if it wasn't for Michael.
Niya was an AMAZING tour guide. She showed us the real Hong Kong and brought us to several food and drink spots that I would have never thought to stop at if I were on my own. Her food and drink recommendations were spot on as well. She gave us all kinds of facts on the local culture, the history, Chinese medicine, and backgrounds of all the places we visited. She also followed up with emails of our great photo moments and lots of info on spots to visit and nightlife in HK. If I didn't know better, I would have thought she lived her whole life here!! It was a pleasure spending the day with her eating, drinking, and running around the city. I'd recommend this tour to everyone with a few hours to spare while in HK - it's something you'll never experience on your own.
My wife, 16 year old son and I were absolutely thrilled and delighted with this tour experience. Laura, our guide for the day, is the perfect host for such a tour.
We found Laura to be very knowledgable on Hong Kong food culture, she speaks the lingo like a native handy when your dealing with Chinese restauranteurs! and a we all had a heap of laughs along the way.
The tour comprised of exactly what is described in the itinerary and we got underway right on time. As we walked to the different eating destinations Laura was also very keen to give us some local knowledge about the areas which we found intriguing and very interesting.
So this is not your average run of the mill food tour. This counts as the best thing we did while in Hong Kong. The food, at every stop, was authentic and the taste absolutely divine.
P.S. if Laura brings Dan along it would be best not to offer him any Tequila! We had SO much fun with you guys and we hope to see you again very soon.
Simon, Marlene and Jackson.
Educational, lots of fun, warm and welcoming, an authentic insight and taste of the delights of Hong Kong. Time to mix with the locals and feel at home. A nice balance of walking, talking, jumping on and off the tram, asking questions and learning things quite spontaneously. Laura is the guide and you will find no better. She understands and exudes hospitality. This is a tour I would want for my friends and family to experience. Te Makao Bowkett
I really enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Jess, was knowledgeable and friendly. We made five different food stops which included dim sum, noodle soups, milk tea, roasted meats, and dessert. Food was quite filling and delicious.
We explored a few streets and a wet market during the tour. We also walked by the Mid-Levels Escalators, the longest covered escalators in the world, and we got to ride a ding ding tram.
I highly recommend this tour.
We had a wonderful tour with Jess. She was a fun, informative and interesting host. Great food with generous servings makes this tour excellent value. Jess went out of her way to help us with suggestions and directions for our stay in Hong Kong. Absolutely memorable- Thanks so much Jess!!!!!
Excellent tour! Our guide Jess was terriffic, we learned so much! Showed us different parts of the city and stopped to eat in so many places. Delicious food! Well worth it. I can only highly suggest you go - you won't regret it!
