Our local guide picked us up from our guesthouse and was very cheerful, chatty and knowledgeable. The transit was comfortable and included a 20 minute break at some shops. The car ride was interesting as everything was pineapple and palm trees at the side of the road! We got to coast and was introduced to the actual owner of the island which was pretty cool. Everyone was super friendly. We then caught a speedboat to two snorkelling points. The second point was better than the first as there was a beautiful colourful reef with a larger variety of fish but watch out for sea urchins and touching the reef! Once we got on the island the buffet was great complete with unlimited fruit juices. We went during thai new year and a group of women came up to everyone singing and flicked water at us then gave us a flowery orchid necklace. If we wanted, we could have gone kayaking, squid fishing or nature trekking in the forest but we chose to see the turtle sanctuary where we see hawkbilled sea turtle babies and huge adults. We then just chilled out in the shade. Would recommended if you want a thai beach experience without the crowds!
Fantastic trip - tour guide Mee was excellent, lunch was great and the tour itself was amazing!
It took three hours to Talu Island and from the island for two 40 minutes snorkeling. The snorkeling sites were extremely crowded. We do not think that the long trips are justifiable for the short duration of snorkeling.
