In the early morning, you’ll be collected from your Huaraz hotel by an air-conditioned vehicle destined for the UNESCO-listed ruins of Chavin de Huantar. During the scenic 3-hour drive to the ruins, your guide provides historical information about the pre-Incan settlement , one that predates Machu Picchu by more than 200 years.
Make your first stop at Querococha Lake, a beautiful natural landmark situated high in the Andes mountains. Stop to capture photographs before you continue ascending a mountain path to Tunel de Cahuish, where the crashing waves of the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans meet.
Following lunch at a local restaurant, you’ll arrive at the ancient ruins of Chavin de Huantar and embark on a 2-hour tour with your guide. Discover imposing temples shrouded in pre-Inca history and then browse a vast collection of artifacts in the on-site museum.
After thoroughly exploring the site, return to your vehicle and relax during the journey back to your Huaraz hotel.
