Awesome Waterfalls

The tour was great and pictures don’t do the waterfalls justice. Our guide Edgar was knowledgeable and professional. We had a small group, 5 of us plus Edgar; who did an excellent job explaining everything in English. To get to the waterfalls, you will need to travel up the mountains. The road can be narrow and sometimes unpaved (but Egad was an excellent and safe driver). You will drive through a few local communities and will have the opportunity to stop at two of their community markets; I personally recommend the second one, it was cleaner and the presentation was better. To get to the waterfalls, you will need to walk on a dirt trail from the parking lot and will visit a total of three main spots. Only take necessary items with you. The surroundings are beautiful and the waterfalls gorgeous. The food was good, we got chicken, mole, rice, beans, pasta salad, and agua fresca. You can buy soda for an extra cost. Overall, it was one of the best experience we had on out stay in Huatulco and highly recommend this trip.

We were excited to go on this tour, however it was a long day with a lot of time spent getting to and from the waterfalls; of the 8 hours we were gone, we were at the waterfalls just under 2 hours. The rest of the time was the drive there, a stop to taste chocolate and mezcal and shop, and lunch. The lunch was an authentic Mexican meal and was good, with plenty to go around. Unfortunately, my daughter and I were the only English speaking people on the tour and despite the fact that it promotes bi-lingual guide, we missed out on a lot of the descriptions as the Spanish version was long with jokes and the English version 1-2 sentences. If you go, be sure to confirm how much cash to bring as they don't take credit card.
