What You Can Expect

Begin with pickup at your Hue hotel, then travel to Minh Mang tomb, a royal mausoleum surrounded by thick forest on the west bank of the Perfume River. Continue to the Tomb of Khai Dinh, the second-to-last emperor of Vietnam, who’s buried under a bronze statue and gold-painted dome.

Visit the martial arts studio at An Cuu, a historic location of the Vo Kinh branch, which taught members of the royal court to fight. See the Tomb of Tu Duc: the emperor and his wife spent their time in graceful pavilions by a scenic lake here, and were worshipped by visitors to Hoa Khiem Temple.

Get a look at daily life in a small village, where locals make conical hats, and turn fragrant sandalwood and cinnamon into incense. Pause for a buffet lunch that includes traditional cuisine, Asian dishes, and Western foods.

Take in the Hue Citadel, the heart of the Imperial City, where three circles of walls protected the royal court: the Capital Citadel, Royal Citadel, and Forbidden Citadel ramparts. Tour Thien Mu Pagoda on the left bank of the Perfume River, then board a sightseeing cruise as the sun sets, passing fishing villages and sampans in the current. This tour concludes with drop-off in Hue.

Great tour, we saw everything promised. It was a bit hard to understand the tourguide, because his english wasn and #39;t that good. But the tour itself is perfect!

You see a lot of interesting places convienient in one trip. The guide only gives history book like facts. Would have been nicer to hear more about vietnamese culture in general, but all in all this is just a personal optinion.

1 star rating: I do not recommend this December 2016

Tour guide tried to charge me for entrance fees although I'd already paid them. It took a lot of arguing for him to finally admit he was supposed to pay for my entrance fees since I had already paid them. If i had not argued, I would have paid twice, while he pocketed the extra money.
The tour guide did not know English well enough to give more than a very brief description of each attraction. While a majority of the tour group was English-speaking, the tour guide spent most of the day talking with the one Vietnamese family while the rest of us had to wait around for him to finish giving them the history. The English speakers were not giving any information most of what we visited. The tour guide was very friendly and eager to improve his English, but the tour could have been hours shorter if we had not wasted most of the day listening to him speak Vietnamese to the Vietnamese family. I don't feel like I learned much from the tour at all.
The lunch was a buffet, but it did not include any vegetarian options for main dishes. We also did not eat until after 2pm.

I really wouldn't bother with this tour. For the amount of money it was my wife and I left early really underwhelmed.
The reasons for this are
- tour guide lost members of the tour before entering the citadel. Took her an hour to find them.
-- left us for half an hour on some benches while she looked for them.
- told me I was disrespectful for asking a question.
- tour group was very large, approx 25 people to one guide
-- half of these were Vietnamese so half of the day you had no idea what was going on
- tour ran very late, so much so we had to leave early and miss the cruise we left at 5pm while still at the citadel, still a pagoda after that

We saw some amazing things but the day was just frustrating and a waste of time.
