Your private tour of Luxor kicks off with an early morning pick up from your Hurghada hotel. Enjoy air-conditioned comfort as you make your way through the desert in your private minivan on a 3.5-hour journey to Luxorr. Your expert Egyptologist will share stories and information about the famed city, which occupies the former site of Thebes—the ancient capital of Egypt’s New Kingdom. See the east bank of the Nile River and get an epic view of the Valley of the Kings.
Your local guide will take you through the 63 Kingdom royal tombs that date back to the 2nd century BC and offer details on why the tombs were built. Explore three of these on your own (guides are not permitted). Purchase a ticket to the tomb of Tutankhamen if time allows and gain a deeper understanding of one of Egypt’s most iconic tombs.
Join your guide and make your way to the Temple of Hatshepsut—a modern-looking structure. Explore the courtyards and terraces as you learn about Egypt’s greatest queen. Make a stop at the Colossi of Memnon to snap some photos and then head to a quiet Nile island to enjoy a traditional Egyptian lunch.
With full bellies, head out to the Karnak Temple, which was built in 2055 BC. Its three inner temples are dedicated to Amun, Khonsu and Mut—gods your guide will share more about. After exploring the temple head towards the Avenue of the Sphinxes and check out the Great Hypostyle Hall, known for its 134 massive columns. Take in the beauty of the man-made Sacred Lake as you listen to your guide explain the significance of the history and architecture that surrounds you.
Your private Luxor day trip from Hurghada includes a 30-minue journey on a felucca (sailboat) along the Nile River. Once the trip is complete, you’ll make your way to Hurghada in the air-conditioned comfort of your priate vehicle and return to your hotel for the evening.

Absolutely fantastic tour, unbelievable spectacles throughout the day, tour guide Mohammed was brilliant, very knowledgable and always kept on advising us to ensure we took on enough water as there is obviously very little shade at the valley and at Hatshepsut Temple. If you are going to Egypt you simply MUST take this tour. You do not see history like this lying on a sun bed by the side of a hotel pool. We cannot recommend this trip enough.

Absolutely Fabulous! Starting with the journey, we were picked up by Mahmoud who was a wonderful driver and the minivan was clean, comfortable and cool. A good and safe journey with a short stop en route to stretch our legs, we picked up our guide Omar Khalifa upon arrival in Luxur. Omar was brilliant, excellent English, very professional and extremely knowledgeable about the history of Luxur. Lunch was delicious at at an authentic rooftop restaurant with a view of the Nile. Overall, it was a long day but thoroughly worth every penny especially the private tour as you have guide and driver to yourself. I would highly recommend this trip.

Great guide and amazing sights but the drive there is way too long 4 hours with that crazy traffic and all those security check points. I would've preferred to fly there.
