Really good excursion. The driver had a lot of knowledge about the area and shared many interesting facts. The boat ride gives a great view of Loch Ness and the surrounding area and the castle is amazing. Highly recommended.
Great trip - Alan was a great tour host - informative, entertaining and helpful.
All aspects were enjoyable, the coach journey and sights, the boat ride and the castle. With only two days in Inverness this was the perfect way to get a taste of what is on offer.
Bus driver/tour guide was great. Lovely boat trip. Just enough time at the Castle.
very well organized, first class bus transportation to the Lochness Boat, very knowledgeable tour guides, worth the .
I originally just signed up to do the cruise for an hour but didn't want to get to the hotel starting point, from Inverness, on my own. I decided to see the castle and I'm so glad I opted for this option. I'm happy Nessie wasn't hungry enough to try and eat us. I learned an incredible amount of information about Scotland, past and present, from this tour. If one is limited on time, this is worth it as it's only a couple of hours. Make sure to also watch the 8 minute video about the Castle. I like the showmanship of how they do it. You'll just have to go as I won't ruin the theatrics. By the way, if old enough, get the hot chocolate with Whisky on the Loch.
This was a great day trip from Inverness. Our driver Alan provided a really good introduction and commentary. The boat trip out on the Loch was stunning. The one hour to wander around the castle ruins was the perfect amount of time and I snuck into the final 8 minute video session at the information centre which provided a good history of the castle. All in all, great value for money.
Alan was a great tour guide. He was very friendly and knowledgable. We enjoyed this tour!
Fantastica, la guida é stata bravissima e i panorami sono fantastici , la consiglio
Perfect half day tour, timed well for bus, boat and castle. Very interesting.
This tour was very nice. Our driver was great. We could have had a little more time at the castle. I felt rushed and didn't get to enjoy it as much as I wanted. Also the cruise had too many people. It was hard to enjoy the scenery when you are packed like sardines at the top.
Our guide, Alan, was fantastic! He was friendly and funny. The boat ride was absolutely beautiful, and the information on the boat tour was very interesting. The only reason I'm not giving this trip 5 stars is because we only had 1 hour at Urquhart Castle, and that's not enough go time to do the castle grounds, gift shop, and see the little video about the area.
Well organized, friendly stuff, especially Sue, our mother, nanny, grandma and world most famous bus driver!!!
Please give her our regards !!!
Credits for this tour should definitely go to the driver/guide, who gave us huge of information during the drive to and from the lake. However, the disappointing part was the boat ride itself. Really short I doubt if it was longer than 20' all in all, with such a noisy crowd that you could hardly listen to the recorded information shared along the way.
This too was good, the castle was beautiful, though we do wish the cruise was a little longer.
If you are going to travel all this way, make sure you see the castle from both water and land, as this tour allows. My only issue with it was that it provided too little time to explore the castle if you actually want to see everything it and the center have to offer. Even still, a wonderful experience!
Very picturesque. Guide very informative and entertaining. Well organised Recommend!
The tour on the loch was 30 mins. I would have liked at least an hour cruise. Urquhart castle definately was worth the visit. The film show at the castle was brilliant in showing a 1000 years of history in 8 minutes.
The guide was knowledgable and helpful. The scenery great.
On the negetive side, the tour description does not inform you of the stepa and steep hill at the Castle and the pier. This tour is not suitable for the disabled!
The boat ride was not 30 minutes as described. It was only 15 minutes and was over before getting settled and starting to look for Nessie! This was very dissapointing.
The cafe had stopped serving hot food before we arrived it was 4:30pm and as we had to go straight to a 4 hr train ride we needed diner.
