Snake River Wildlife Scenic Float: (3 hours)
This rafting tour from Jackson Hole begins with a hotel pickup, where you’ll next travel for 25 miles (40 km) to the banks of Wyoming’s Snake River. You’ll board your comfortable, 10-person raft at the area around Pritchard Creek, before floating past bald eagle nesting areas and banks that house foraging wildlife. As your guide discusses the Teton’s geology, scan the landscape for moose and deer that could suddenly appear on the banks, and watch out for splashes of river otters that swim around in the shallows.
You’ll also see stunning rock formations, which silently rise from the alpine landscape as they have for thousands of years. This scenic Snake River wildlife float concludes before noon when you’re dropped in Jackson after a beautiful morning outdoors.
Snake River Wildlife and Grand Teton Scenic Float: (3.5 hours)
This tour begins when you’re picked up from your Jackson Hole hotel, where you’ll then drive to Wyoming’s Snake River for a 13-mile (21-km) journey downstream. This section of river in the Gros Ventre mountain range is surrounded by stunning terrain, as it’s sandwiched between Bridger Teton National Forest and Grand Teton National Park.
As your guide discusses the area’s geology and fascinating cultural history, scan the riverbank for moose and deer that could suddenly appear on shore. Grab the binoculars provided by your guide to search the treetops for osprey, which could even make a dramatic appearance and dive in the river for food.
Depending upon the time of your tour, you’ll enjoy a breakfast of delicious baked goods or a filling lunch by the river, before the 3.5-hour tour comes to an end with a ride to your Jackson hotel.
