Conquer your fear and visit the most haunted place in India on a 12-hour day trip to Bhangarh Fort from Jaipur. Alongside your guide, you’ll explore the 17th-century ruins and piece together the mystery of why the village was deserted by its residents 300 years ago. See, too, the 1,000-year-old Chand Baori stepwell, famed for its precise and picturesque geometrical pattern. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included on this small-group tour, limited to 12 people.

  • 12-hour day trip to the Bhangarh Fort and Chand Baori stepwell from Jaipur
  • Escape the hustle and bustle of the city in favor of the countryside
  • Visit the 17th-century ruins of the Bhangarh Fort, considered the most haunted place in India
  • Admire the precise design of the 1,000-year-old Chand Baori stepwell
  • Hotel pickup and drop-off are included
  • Small-group tour limited to 12 people

Your day trip begins with pickup from your Jaipur hotel at 9am, when you’ll board a vehicle destined for Bangarh Fort. During the 2-hour journey, your driver explains how the fortress earned the title of India’s most haunted place.

On arrival, you’ll explore the atmospheric ruins — inexplicably abandoned around 300 years ago — and hear stories of why the Indian government have banned entry to the complex between sunset and sunrise.

Your next stop is Chand Baori, a 1,000-year-old stepwell located in the rural village of Abhaneri. Admire the construction’s labyrinth of steps and precise geometrical design before returning to your vehicle for the 2-hour journey back to Jaipur, where you’ll arrive at approximately 9pm.

The trip we booked with Viator was good from the perspective of the local organisation team. However I was not happy with the service provided by Viator. I emailed a long time before the tour to update our hotel location and was informed by a Viator staff member that the local organiation team had been informed, they had not. I had to call them as 2 per min as I was in India to ensure we were picked up at the correct place. Also, there was no guide at all....paying so much money, a guide should be included. Essentially we paid for a car and driver which, given that cars and drivers in India are not expensive, I feel we were significantly over-charged by Viator.
