The tour itself wasn't bad, but my tour guide didn't speak any English despite I booked the tour in English.

This tour was awesome. My tour guide, Ronnie, was excellent. He picked me up in a sedan at my hotel, then we drove and picked up another couple of people. That was the entire tour-group! The Ajijic/Chapala area is gorgeous, and a welcome respite from the heat and frantic city-life of Guadalajara. Ajijic was charming and lovely, but I think the highlight of the day was the delicious and relaxing lunch out on Scorpion Island: so awesome to just sit there, taking in the wonderful view, great food, and gentle breeze...

This was one of my favorites during my visit to Guadalajara. I would recommend you spend a few days there and not just a tour.

We were the only ones on this tour, so had undivided attention of Ronnie, an excellent guide. He gave us lots of information about everything we saw, and more. We had time in the town of Ajijic, then the boat ride to Scorpion Island, and a great meal there.
We were taken to a commercial stop - a Candy Shop in Ajijic, where we felt obligated to purchase some of the ladys candy, Not saying it wasnt good stuff though. And interesting too.

We had the pleasure of having Ronnie as our tour guide. His facility with English was excellent as was his knowledge of Lake Chapala, Aijic and the local area. Ronnie is a historian and story teller that makes the tour extremely fascinating and has sent me home to read more of the indigenous people's tales.

Visiting Chapala and taking in the views of the lake and town was great. Prior to getting to Chapala, we visited the small town of Ajijic - you get the vibe of the small town however, to my surprise this town houses a lot retired people from the US and Canada.
Walking though the main plaza, visiting the churches and walking the narrow streets down to the lake was very nice - not to mention the shops and galleries while taking the stroll.
Another highlight of the visit was that before arriving to Ajijic, we made a stop to visit the Ranch of Vicente Fernandez, we spent 30-40 minutes going to the ranch and seeing how the horses are trained and taking in the views of the property. We were not lucky to be greeted by Vicente himself, but it was a stop that was worthwhile.
Amigo tours was our tour guide and operator. Edgar gave a 5-star treatment, so glad he took care of us.
Highly recommend tour.

This was a wonderful tour. We were fortunate to have Ronny as our tour guide. He is knowledgeable, engaging, friendly and lots of fun. The tour itself included time on Scorpio island, complete with a wonderful grilled fresh fish lunch. Each town offered its own unique history and charm. This tour was an absolute 10 for us.
