What You Can Expect

Douglas Island Zipline Tour from Juneau

Soar through the canopy!

Meet your Juneau zipline adventure guide at the Mt Roberts aerial tram station. A high-speed boat takes you across the Gastineau Channel, the stretch of water separating Juneau from Douglas Island. Along the way, soak up views of Mayflower Island and Suicide Falls.

Disembark on a quiet stretch of beach on Douglas Island and walk over to the zipline base camp. Get fitted into your harness and gear, and receive a safety briefing and instructions. Next, a 4x4 all-terrain vehicle takes you uphill to the nearly 1-mile (1.6-km) zipline course.

Have a blast making your way across the 10 dual-cable ziplines. Fly over a thick canopy of old-growth spruce trees, admire views of Juneau and Bullion Creek and thread your way across two suspension bridges.

Enjoy a special vantage point of Treadwell Mine, one of the world’s largest gold mines in the late 19th century. Soar over its 180-foot-deep (55-meter) hole, where part of the ground once caved in.

The final platform offers one more adrenaline-fueled challenge: a rappel back to base camp. Receive a medal as an award for your bravery and enjoy a light snack before a boat sails you back to Juneau.

this was a first time experience for 2 senior citizen. ease of travel to the site was great. Weather that day was sunny . Our guides were Rylie and Maggie and they were fantastic. Very helpful and encouraging. A little nervous at first , but got the hang of the ropes fairly quickly. Would recommend to anyone. We had a great time and would do it again.

Good excursion. A little much for those who are not athletic. Might do it again. Had fun. Staff had great knowledge about the event, the location, and the history. Worth the money. Caroline and the other guide were excellent.

Douglas Island is beautiful and the zip lining is fantastic. The boat ride to the island is a short, easy hop from the cruise ship dock. Our experience was 100 in the rain, from the time we left Juneau, throughout our zip line adventure, and during our return to Juneau. The rain made the experience a bit more challenging, and at the same time rewarding and memorable. This was our first time zip lining, and I was especially concerned, given my age 71 and a couple health issues. The young, knowledgeable, enthusiastic crew made this adventure very doable and enjoyable. This line culminates with an 800 ft. run you must experience to appreciate. Great experience and would definitely do again.

This was our 4th time zipping in different places. This particular zip was the best so far. Don't miss the opportunity of a life time with this one! Love, love, loved it.

We had much fun and at 75 I was impressed that I did it. My wife went way out of her comfort zone and just champed it. I was and am very impressed with her courage. We will do it again if we ever cruisewhich require some time to save our money. Thank you!

The guides on this adventure were amazing. Overall a fun trip, other than the one lady who kept being obnoxious about how scared she was. Equipment all in great shape and even though I was nervous to do this since I personally am not a fan of heights, I never once was concerned for my safety.
