The two naturalists on board were very informative. At times, it can be hard to hear when speeding across the water, but ask them to repeat it and they will do so. They are also very available to answer any question and never feel like any question is a dumb question. As with any whale watching, there is no guarantee of seeing whales, but we did see 6 whales and 1 orca called Old Jack. We never saw them breach, but they did break the water and we saw them shoot water out several times. The guides know the whales by name. I recommend the boat -- nice seating indoors with large windows, a restroom, snacks salmon on bagels, hot chocolate, coffee, soda and two outdoor viewing areas: main level in back of boat and on top which can hold 12 people at a time. If it's raining, you will want rain gear. If it's not, you may wish to have a good windbreaker.

My family including my 12-year old son highly recommend this tour. It started out as a grey and drizzly day but that didnt stop us from seeing 11 whales. It cleared up and we got even better pictures. Our captain was fantastic and was able to continually find spots where the whales were coming up out of the water. I managed to get 2 tail pics. I would recommend that if you have a Go-Pro that you use it. My husband wore ours the entire time and everything he saw, we have captured.

Great experience. We saw lots of whales Captain had an instinct for being in the right place. What's more, the cost was around half the cost of the overpriced ship tour that couldn't have been better.

The whale watching excursion was wonderful! I learn some interesting information from our guide as we searched for the whales. Our driver knew just where to go to find the feeding whales. What a spectacular sight to see a whale come up out of the water and then dive back down! Loved the whole adventure!

We had an amazing time! Captain John and our naturalist Olivia were great at getting us many great sightings as well as a lot of great information. The price was much lower than the cruise ship offered. I would definitely recommend it.

Excellent tour. Very knowledgeable captain and staff. We saw a bunch of whales....even before leaving the harbor! We didn't see any fins or whales jumping out of the water. We did see them feeding at the surface and their throats expand, which I thought was pretty cool. We saw seals and eagles as well. Overall a beautiful day and a wonderful spot for viewing,

Great excursion at half the cost that the cruise ships charge with the same guarantees. Our boat's captain, Captain John and his helper, Olivia, did a great job of showing us a good time. The boat is small, so you don't have to fight the crowd to get to the edge of the boat to get a good look at the whales. Captn. John did his best to get us as close to the whales as possible. We spotted about 5 Humpback whales and even got to see one do 'the tail thing'! There's a clean restroom onboard and they served water, hot chocolate and a very tasty little salmon sandwich for light snacks. We were allowed to go up on the bow and the back of the boat when we stopped to watch the whales which gave us a good place for viewing. The boat also had big windows that you can open if you choose not to go out on the bow or the back of the boat to view. We docked right down town and so it was easy to find the excursion. They have a YELLOW sign with BLUE lettering. The driver who drove us out to the excursion was so informative. He told us a lot of history and about sights and things around Juneau. He was even kind enough to let us out at the Red Dog Saloon on the way back to the port so that we could walk from there back to our ship instead of having to go back to port and then walk all the way back. We had a great time and the Price was reasonable.

We saw at least a dozen whales, breaching, bubble netting, and tail waving. Our guide, Sean, was the best.

Guide and captain were both very knowledgeable, and found a group of humpbacks which we trailed for a period of time before seeking and finding other whales, sea lions - even caught a glimpse of a bear onshore. Would recommend this crew for my next trip.

Had an excellent experience with the excursion. Would like to see more whales and orca, but the weather was not conducive to that the day we were there. That is something that the excursion people couldn't help. We did see a few whale and sea lions. There was even a baby whale who put off a little spout. The naturalist and the driver of the boat were very good. Would do again.

The excursion was exceptional. The captain was experienced and placed us in a perfect position to see a young whale completely leave the water on the leap called a breach. The mature mother slapped the water in delight and this was repeated a second time. Truly a life changing experience. Would highly recommend this team selected by Viator

On a fine day with whales breeching this would have been a fantastic tour. As it was it was a drizzly day and the whales were taking it easy. Saw a few tails and was so close to one could see down it's blow hole. The girls were very good at spotting and knew their subject well

It was half of the price and local people were conducting the tour. It was not quite as classy as cruise offered tours but we did see a lot of whales. The bus driver was friendly and informative.

We had a wonderful afternoon on the water. We saw a total of 5 humpback whales. One of them had a calf! Even though none of them breached, we saw them looking at us spy hop a few times. The staff on our boat were informative and helpful. Everyone had binoculars to use if you were not using a camera. The salmon snack was tasty.
