Juneau Wildlife Whale Watching

First the weather was outstanding. We received a short tour before arriving at the boat. Our guide on the boat was knowledgeable knowledgeable and very helpful. We did see whales.one came u right next to the boat. A little disappointing but not the fault f the guys.:All in all a good trip.

The meeting point was easy to find and line up well organized. The tour started with a bus ride over to the harbor from which our boat would leave. Our bus driver Juan told us all about local life and sites, a terrific tour guide. He even slowed down the bus at times for picture taking! Once on the vessel, Adam not only was able to tell us much about whales, but also kept a close eye on safety matters. The boat was close to brand new, giving us a safe feeling. We not only observed much whale activity, but also were able to identify the whales with the help of Adam’s collection of photos. The trip exceeded all expectations, and even the bustrip back into town was enjoyable, especially the several anecdotes of local life. Little snacks on board kept us going while on the water, but we were definitely ready for a good meal in one of the restaurants downtown; our favorite was The Hangar in the Wharf Building with nice view on water planes taking off...and terrific service. Be sure to dress warm on this trip since it is fun to go outside at times. There are many options for whale watching, but I highly recommend this company! Highly recommend this company.

Vessel was great and yes definitely saw whales but not close enough to take photos with an amateur camera or phone and would have loved more time on the water as once you catch the bus there is Little time on the water. We did see a calf with 2 adults so worth the trip.

Would recommend this tour. Crew knew where to locate whales. Privileged to be in such close proximity to the whales.

Trip was very nice. Crew was very professional and equipment was newer and in good shape. Saw 3-4 whales tails but no full breach out of the water. A little pricey but they guarantee sightings and we did see them, albeit from a distance of 100-300 yards.

Lauren, Matt and Sarah took great care of us and provided plenty of actio. The boat is comfortable and gets to the action spots fast. Our luck was good, we even got to see Sasha the humpback whale do a breech for us! A friend from the cruise ship told us later that she was on one of the smaller boats for the more "intimate" experience - they were in the same place as we during Sasha's jump. She said her tour was less comfortable, and they all missed seeing Sasha's breech. Book this tour if you want a great wildlife experience :-)

Amazing time. We expected to see a humpback but were blessed to see a pod of 5-6 Orcas as well. All the staff did an wonderful job explaining info about the whales and being on alert for them. We got pretty close and just was a thrill for all of us.

Had an awesome trip a juvenile whale put on a show for over 5 minutes and mom jumped in too at one point. Crew was knowledgeable and very informative.

While in transit, at the actual whale watch site, and on the way back, everything was smooth and good
