Our excursion in Juneau was an amazing experience, that just happened to be a great value compared to buying through the ship. The glacier was cool, saw salmon and a bear, but the highlight was the whale watching. Ben and Jeremiah were amazing captains, super enthusiastic, funny, and informative.
Started with the Whale watching and as guaranteed whales were blowing and splashing their flippers apart from a tail here and there, and one incident of rising above the surface in a magnificent display of size and grace. In the vast expanse ocean expanse one is really humbled by these creatures and you are torn between seeing them and doing the camera bit !.- suggest when watching whales - you will experience more if not burdened with the camera !! course the team of Dirk, Jon and Kelley were great in their explanations and assistance. Apart from whales, there were seals and awesome display of Bald Eagles as they swooped to pick up food/fish from the waters. Then off to the Mendehall Glacier - as you approach it one realizes the immense size and beauty. Visiting the neighboring nugget falls is a must as one also gets closer to the glacier - the walk is easy, though it is very difficult to walk away so quickly. the visitors hall is full of information, exhibits and also theater - which is highly recommended to learn about the culture of the region. Also a great aspect of the tour is that you can can the shuttle back into the city independently which gives you a sense of flexibility. After all this natural beauty - we were too tired to go on the city tour - so decided to drop it for the day. Next day we bought another ticket 25 cad for the same city tour- this was a good decision since to really want to know about the city / culture then during the city tour- a visit to the New Museum is a must, besides the Salmon hatchery - and other spots. all these do take time for which one needs be relaxed and fresh. Hence the only suggestion on the wonderful time spent - is a recommendation that the city tour ticket validity remains for those who would like to take the city tour on any day within their stay.
Overall a very enjoyable tour. Juneau City Tour was superficial but Mendenhall Glacier and Whale-watching tours were first rate.
Boat captain did a great job of finding whale activity. Would have liked a little more time at the glacier to complete all the hiking. Well organized and on time.
Best tour ever! First time in Alaska and it was worth the money for sure. We saw alot of orcas and whales, the glacier was gorgeous and the tour of juneau wad beautiful. Highly recommended this trip.
My tour was great. The mender hall was fantastic as was the whale watching. Thoroughly enjoyed myself
Absolutely wonderful! Wonderful bus tour of the city from a very knowledgeable driver good free time at Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center fantastic whale watching trip - 4 whales at 3 stops, all putting on quite the feeding show!
We definitely scored with the tour we booked through Viator. We got more for our money than most of the people on the bus and at a lower price. We had my 86-year old mother-in-law, my wife and her best friend in our group. The guides and drivers were very accommodating and informative. And, it's Alaska! How can you loose?!

Had a great time the staff were knowledgeable and we saw lots of whales a brilliant time thank you
great crew on boat, very informative, city tour and trip to the glacier also good
Great whale watching. The 2 guys on the boat we were on were the best guides we have ever encountered during our travels. Only one drawback, the tour operator should better coordinate the tour buses. There was some confusion by the buses. Otherwise a fantastic tour, we highly recommend it.
Well worth it. Spectacular scenery and great opportunity to see some majestic wildlife! Whatever you do don't forget your camera, especially for the whale watching!!
Great trip with lots of variety. all the sites were incredible and we did see some whales. The company was very flexible - we move the city tour a bit later in the afternoon so we could have lunch after the menhaden glacier. very fun full day in Juneau.
This was an outstanding tour. Simple overview of Juneau. Then we went to Mendenhall Glacier. Be sure to take the hike to the Nugget Falls. That alone would have been enough for a great day in Alaska. We were pretty beat and loving Alaska. But our day was not over...we went whale watching. The most amazing whale watching we've ever done. There were 3 pods of Whales Bubble Netting. Words and photos cannot describe it. The crew was friendly, knowledgeable and as enthusiastic as the passengers. It was a great day full of smiles for all.
Thanks so much. It was a wonderful experience. Specially the tour to watch the whales.!! Fantastic. I will recommend this tour to my friends and family.
We started with the whale watching which was awesome. The guide was excellent, she was informative, enthusiastic and friendly. We were all so excited to see several whales and the boats skipper made sure that we all had an opportunity to take photos.
We were taken from there to the Mendenhall Glacier which really is a spectacle. We walked to the waterfall and thoroughly enjoyed this experience.
After the Glacier we should have returned to the Juneau bus depot for the Juneau City tour but we didn't have enough time to get back for this. It was after 5pm when we got back.
With hindsight I think we should have booked to start the trip earlier in the morning and then we could have fitted everything in. We chose 11:00.
We did have an amazing day and the trip was well worth the money.
Whale watching was fantastic! Not enough time at the Glacier, we were there on the last cruise ship of the season and were taken to the Glacier first and had to be back to the bus stop in an hour to go the the whale watching destination. Better to do the whale watching first and then take the shuttle back at your leisure.

The Mendenhall Glacier and the cascade was a really nice walking we sow a porcupine, and we took a great pics, and in the whale tour Rachel and the Captain did a great job, we sow a few whale tales and the best part was the sea lions island.
I'm giving this 5 stars only because of the whale watching, which was fantastic. Amy our naturalist and Captain Dirk were as excited as we were to see whales breeching, and we also got quite close to a number of whales spouting, arcing, flipping their tails, etc. Dirk stays in contact with other operators so that they can alert each other to the more active whales. One even dove under our boat! The glacier is beautiful but you can't get particularly close. You can walk about 1 mile to the waterfall, and stand right at the edge of it on a little beach. The tour allows more time than you need since that's about all you can do there. The "city tour" was a complete waste. Our "guide" literally called out such "landmarks" as the Walmart, junior high school, and McDonald's, along with a running spiel of tired jokes.
Excellent!! Glacier area was very beautiful and offered nice walking trails. The whale watching was phenomenal! Plenty of whales and even saw " bubble netting" with at least 14 whales! Excellent!
Our trip was absolutely wonderful. Our guide on the whale watching was a young girl named Sierra. She was wonderful. The glacier tour and city tour was great also

This was by far the best day that we experienced in Alaska. The city tour was excellent, and our native American guide gave us incites into the culture and history of the people of Juneau. The visit to Mendenhall Glacier was also an experience to remember, since we were able to explore, take many photos, and interact with park rangers at our leisure.
Little did we know that the experience would only get better on our whale-watching cruise. The cruise started with us viewing no less than 20 Bald Eagles on the beach having a salmon snack, continued with the siting of a pod of 15-18 Humpback Whales bubble feeding continuously over our 30-minute observation time, and ended with a quick view of a group of sea lions playing "king of the mountain" on a buoy. Thanks to our captain and crew for a wonderful adventure!
GREAT TOUR!!! would recommend to anyone going on an Alaskan vacation.
