Designed for travelers seeking a relaxed outdoor experience, this 6.5-hour kayaking and trekking tour of Yakushima allows you to discover the UNESCO-listed island without exerting excess energy. In a small group limited to four people, you’ll kayak on the lower Anbo River before taking a leisurely 2-hour hike through the island’s ancient cedar forests. Hotel pickup and drop-off, and all equipment are included.
At your Yakushima accommodation, pickup occurs between 8am and 8:30am. Please note, waterproof clothing and sensible hiking shoes are recommended. On arrival at the lower section of the Anbo River, you’ll receive a safety briefing, don a life jacket, and climb into your kayak.
For the following hour, you’ll paddle through Yakushima’s botanical treasure trove, beneath colorful bridges and past dense green forests that harbor ancient cedar trees.
Then, return to dry land in order to begin a leisurely 2-hour hike through the atmospheric forests of Yakusugi Land. Follow an easy trail populated by ancient cedar trees and peppered by small streams and waterfalls.
Your tour then concludes with drop-off back at your accommodation.
