Embrace the challenges and rewards of hiking on the UNESCO-listed Yakushima island on a 12-hour trekking tour from the Kumage District. In a small group limited to four, you’ll climb to the 6,348-foot (1,935-meter) summit of Mt. Miyanoura, from which spectacular views of Yakushima’s dense forests, ancient cedar trees, and craggy mountain peaks are enjoyed. Depending on the location of your hotel on the island, hotel pickup occurs between 4am and 4:30am. Hiking boots and waterproof clothing are recommended.
