Meet your hotel representative for the 10- to 15-minute walk to your accommodation at the Royal Park Hotel, where a brief orientation session will be held. After lunch, take a ride in a bullock cart, the local form of transport, to visit a nearby tribal village and museum dedicated to the culture and history of the indigenous Tharu people. 5 star rating: Highly Recommended August 2014

1. I was the only tourist, and i had to travel to Chitwan by myself using the regular inter-city bus. No problem encountered, but still not very comfortable for its a long ride from kathmandu (6 hrs). Good part about the ride - lunch in a decent restaurant included, AC working (one way) and drinking bottled water for free.
2. Hotel in Chitwan. made of small bungalows - minimal comfort, power shortages frequent. But food was awesome and included in the price (3 times a day).
3. the jungle triips - excellent. Guides are professional.

Didn't enjoy the bus ride to Chitwan..very scary! I certainly enjoyed the canoe ride down the river, spotting crocs and various birdlife as well as the jeep safari. An early morning bird watching walk around the river was also enjoyable.

Good experiences in Chitwan area. Hotel staff most courteous. Both canoe and excursion into the national park made the trip worthwhile. Bus ride to/from Kathmandu kept ones blood pressure up but part of the experience!!!
