What You Can Expect

Discover the mysteries of the jungle on this 4-hour Kauai ATV tour! Your adventure begins at Old Koloa Town, where you’ll meet your friendly guide and receive a safety briefing. Choose from two different off-road vehicle models — the Mud Bug and the Ohana Bug. (See details below. Please make your selection at the time of booking). If you’re planning to drive, you’ll get instructions on how to operate your vehicle.

Climb aboard your sturdy ATV and set out through the rugged terrain. The Mud Bug or Ohana Bug will allow you to cross through thick vegetation and rough trails that are inaccessible to other vehicles. After riding for about 2 hours, stop at beautiful Kahili Falls to explore the area by foot. Take a refreshing dip in the emerald pool at the base of the cascade, or hike around the jungle to look for wildlife.
Continue on through a bamboo forest to another waterfall tucked away in a tropical clearing. Enjoy a picnic lunch of gourmet sandwiches, chips, cookies and drinks while you soak up the beautiful views.

Enjoy the return drive to Old Koloa Town as you splash through mud puddles and rumble through the jungle.

Mud Bug: This fully automatic off-road vehicle features a three-point harness system, roll bars and a Baja-tested suspension system. With room for two, it’s a popular choice for couples.

Ohana Bug: A bigger version of the Mud Bug, this ATV seats up to four people and is ideal for families or small groups of friends.

The guide was GREAT! It was so much from driving around the the dirt roads. The waterfall we stopped at was small, but so much fun to swim in! Highly recommend doing this if in the area!!!!

My husband and I had a blast. Our ATV broke down at the waterfall, but the staff let us drive one of theirs, so we didn and #39;t miss any of the experience. And if it has rained recently, prepare to get covered in mud. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

What a trip!! Never been that muddy ever! What fun it was. Glad I took a plastic trash bag to put my stuff in. Had a great time. My daughter drove the bug and she delighted in trying to find places to get me more muddy! Just know it is VERY bumpy and you get extremely dirty.....that's all part of the fun! Go for it!

My wife and I really enjoyed this tour 18 May 16! Scenery was gorgeous, guides were great and the food was good and we were pretty hungry by the time we got to the falls. The falls were beautiful, water was a bit cold for us Floridians but jumping in from the cliff cured the hesitancy to wade in. It had been very dry for a number of days so it started off real dusty but they provide helmet, googles and a free bandana for each rider and you will need it for the dust. We got lucky as it started to rain about 1/4 of the way and really knocked the dust down which also made it slippery and the trails even more fun.

Suggestions for riders: We were told to wear long pants and closed toed shoes. We had assumed that this was for the riding and showed up in jeans and hiking boots. However, when at the office checking Old Town Koloa we were the only ones in jeans and then found out that the closed toed shoes were to enter the waterfall and had to be worn when swimming. So luckily we had brought shorts for the ride home so the wife changed changing area at the ATV staging area, different from the check in office about a mile away changed into shorts over her bikini and I just wore my swim shorts. As for closed toed shoes, they had water shoes for sale at 12 a pair so we bought 2 pair and worked out perfect.

We carried a backpack that we put in the shallow bed of the Mud Bug and as we were next to last in the line the dust was incredible and the pack was pretty dusty. So at the first stop at the tunnel I put it in a plastic bag I had with me and glad I did as the rain started shortly after that. I recommend that you bring a small garbage bag to anything you bring with you in to protect it and help keep it clean and dry.

All in all, great tour and highly recommend it. We had a blast! Kudos to Kauai ATV!

PS they take a lot of great pictures and we bought the memory stick with extras

The ATV adventure was great. You will get wet, you will get muddy, and you will have fun! Our guide did a great job in preparing us for what was ahead. He also took the time to explain about the surroundings like the Wilcox tunnel, waterfalls, World War II bunkers, and beautiful scenery where the movies come alive.

Was fun driving the buggy, seeing the scenery. Tour guide stopped frequently to point out movie locations, sites and explain interesting facts about where and what we seeing. We visited a WWII bunker. At the waterfall, we were able to go into it to wade, swim and/or jump off the falls. I recommend the PBJ for lunch. You will get dirty, but they will provide clothes you can wear and a place to rinse off afterward.

Great fun - we were in a small group that was really fun. The tour guide was well informed and had a great personality... We will do this again!!
The pictures taken by the guide - we should have gotten an email telling us how to purchase them. So, we have none and no way to see what he took??
