what an amazing experience! I was skeptical at first, but I have to say it is a must do on kuaii! our tour guide bree, was funny, informative, with a playful attitude. its like she was born to do this. certainly a lot more fun than expected. will do this on my next trip as well. worth every dollar.
The guide was GREAT! It was so much from driving around the the dirt roads. The waterfall we stopped at was small, but so much fun to swim in! Highly recommend doing this if in the area!!!!
My husband and I had a blast. Our ATV broke down at the waterfall, but the staff let us drive one of theirs, so we didn and #39;t miss any of the experience. And if it has rained recently, prepare to get covered in mud. Would do it again in a heartbeat.
What a trip!! Never been that muddy ever! What fun it was. Glad I took a plastic trash bag to put my stuff in. Had a great time. My daughter drove the bug and she delighted in trying to find places to get me more muddy! Just know it is VERY bumpy and you get extremely dirty.....that's all part of the fun! Go for it!
My wife and I really enjoyed this tour 18 May 16! Scenery was gorgeous, guides were great and the food was good and we were pretty hungry by the time we got to the falls. The falls were beautiful, water was a bit cold for us Floridians but jumping in from the cliff cured the hesitancy to wade in. It had been very dry for a number of days so it started off real dusty but they provide helmet, googles and a free bandana for each rider and you will need it for the dust. We got lucky as it started to rain about 1/4 of the way and really knocked the dust down which also made it slippery and the trails even more fun.
Suggestions for riders: We were told to wear long pants and closed toed shoes. We had assumed that this was for the riding and showed up in jeans and hiking boots. However, when at the office checking Old Town Koloa we were the only ones in jeans and then found out that the closed toed shoes were to enter the waterfall and had to be worn when swimming. So luckily we had brought shorts for the ride home so the wife changed changing area at the ATV staging area, different from the check in office about a mile away changed into shorts over her bikini and I just wore my swim shorts. As for closed toed shoes, they had water shoes for sale at 12 a pair so we bought 2 pair and worked out perfect.
We carried a backpack that we put in the shallow bed of the Mud Bug and as we were next to last in the line the dust was incredible and the pack was pretty dusty. So at the first stop at the tunnel I put it in a plastic bag I had with me and glad I did as the rain started shortly after that. I recommend that you bring a small garbage bag to anything you bring with you in to protect it and help keep it clean and dry.
All in all, great tour and highly recommend it. We had a blast! Kudos to Kauai ATV!
PS they take a lot of great pictures and we bought the memory stick with extras
The ATV adventure was great. You will get wet, you will get muddy, and you will have fun! Our guide did a great job in preparing us for what was ahead. He also took the time to explain about the surroundings like the Wilcox tunnel, waterfalls, World War II bunkers, and beautiful scenery where the movies come alive.

Was fun driving the buggy, seeing the scenery. Tour guide stopped frequently to point out movie locations, sites and explain interesting facts about where and what we seeing. We visited a WWII bunker. At the waterfall, we were able to go into it to wade, swim and/or jump off the falls. I recommend the PBJ for lunch. You will get dirty, but they will provide clothes you can wear and a place to rinse off afterward.
Great fun - we were in a small group that was really fun. The tour guide was well informed and had a great personality... We will do this again!!
The pictures taken by the guide - we should have gotten an email telling us how to purchase them. So, we have none and no way to see what he took??
So much fun!! We lucked out and had a personal tour as only my boyfriend and I and another couple showed out of a grp of 14. We had a blast with our guides!!! Must do!!
WE had a great time. Did get a little muddy but that was what we were there for. The guides were wonderful.
They explained the rules and then off we went. Had several interesting stops and they told us history about the area. Stop at waterfalls was beautiful. Would highly recommend to friends and family.
I loved this excursion! Awesome sights! The food was good and the girls were friendly and took pictures and didn't rush us. My brakes I had to push pretty hard tho. I hope they get changed soon. A great way to see Kauai! Wear their clothes. No need to get yours dirty and no need for long pants unless you mind a little mud on your legs.
The trip was fantastic, from beginning to end. Had a lot of fun, the guide and photographer were great! The group of people we were with were a lot of fun also. Great experience overall!!
Of all the trips we did on our visit to Kauai, this one was the best. The most fun, the most interesting, and the waterfall, and "bugging" was awesome. We would highly recommend it, and will most likely do it again on our next visit. A must see, a must DO!
This was very fun and exciting. They even provide you with the clothes you need. Expect to get muddy, laugh a lot and see wonderful scenery. The guide was great and gave us a lot of great facts. This was an outstanding tour.
This excursion was fantastic, we rode atv's, and stopped along the way for a swim in a waterfall, lunch, photos of the scenic mountains where several movies were filmed and at an old war bunker. Our tour guides Kehoa (sorry, spelling) and Bethany were informative and energetic. It was a great choice
We had great guides and a great experience. Well organized and next to the Pearl Harbor Memorial, this was the best excursion of the four islands we visited. My wife is sixty five and never driven a ATV they were excellent in briefing her. She did well and loved it.
Great tour. We had a wonderful time. The tour guides were young and energetic and tried to make it a fun event. For others who are interested, two recommendations: 1- Be sure you borrow the clothes that they offer you to wear. EVERYTHING on you will be covered in mud. 2- Ask how many vehicles will be on the tour. We had about 12 which was 4-6 too many. A smaller group would have been better.
