Begin with pickup from your Watamu hotel at 8:30am for a 9am departure on a glass-bottom boat. Cruise the clear water off Mayungu, then navigate towards Watamu Marine National Park, part of the UNESCO-listed Malindi-Watamu Biosphere Reserve. The park’s sandy bottoms and stony coral protect a thriving population of fish and marine mammals, including octopus, manta rays, and three species of sea turtles.
Watch for wildlife through the boat’s glass viewing area, or slip into the water to snorkel above the coral reef. You’ll see some of the park’s 600 species of fish, from lionfish to snapper and brightly-striped angelfish. After snorkeling, return to Mayungu Beach for an oceanside spread of barbecued seafood such as lobster, shrimp, fish, and shellfish. Spend the afternoon at your own pace: head back into the water to snorkel and swim, soak up the Kenyan sunshine on the sand, or simply relax in the shade. This tour concludes with return transfer to your hotel.
