we were so lucky to see the bears in different locations fishing...seen bald eagles, the tour guide was very informative and friendly. Had a great time and learned lots...the making of totem poles also a great bonus...would highly recommend...overall...Great Trip....!!
we had a great tour and great tour girl from New Zealand. We were very looky to see the bears and manny other animals feeding on the salmons. great experience
Really enjoyed this walking tour. Our guide new alot about the plants and wild life.
I had been planning to do the lumberjack show as that seems the standard thing to do in Ketchikan, but I'm so glad we found this instead, it was a lovely and easy walk through the forest, and we did see three black bears - including a mother and her cub fishing in the stream. Our guide was knowledgable and brought what we were looking at to life. We enjoyed hearing the story of the totem pole we watched being carved, and the birds of prey were magnificent. We were rushed at the end with just 10 mi utes for restrooms and gift shop, which was a shame.
We had a great tour guide. She was very knowledgeable. We saw black bears in their natural habitat. Also, lots of bald eagles and even saw the salmon spawning upstream. It was an increadable time! The rain forest was beautiful too. I highly recommend this walking tour.
Fantastic walking tour of an Alaskan rainforest! Our tour guide, Tess, was enthusiastic and well informed! Saw slugs, eagles, reindeer, a bear, and watched a totem pole being constructed!
My family loved this excursion! We learned so much from our tour guide Grace and the rainforest was beautiful! We saw bald eagles flying right above us through the forest it was very cool. We also spotted a bear eating grass in an open meadow which was awesome. We loved this tour!
We were picked -up at our meeting place on the Cruise port . In total our party numbered 7 people . We arrived at the Rainforest after a short drive . Our guide was Amanda who explained a few rules before we set off , like no food as it attracts bears , do not go off on your own ,and keep up . She was very good explaining the evolution of the area what plants and trees are important to sustain the wildlife what we will possibly see in the terms of bears , wolves, eagles , wolverine and birdlife . By the salmon hatchery on a raised platform ,one of our party spotted a black bear coming out of the forest and walking through the bear grass to a small stream .This gave us all a photo opportunity for about 5 minutes with the bear coming closer, before walking away. On the left hand side in the trees we saw a pair of eagles in the trees , As you come off the platform you enter a sawmill . Here we saw a local Indian craftsman carving a Totem Pole ,. Next place to visit is the Raptor centre which cares for injured Birds of Prey . A great tour with a very knowledgeable guide . with the highlight being seeing the bear spotting these is not guaranteed .
Eilian, our tour guide, was very engaging and knowledgeable. Highly recommend. I loved the totem poles and active carving demonstration as well as the bald eagles, owl, and hawk.
The tour was nice. Blair was our guide and she was great! We did not get to see any bears though! Blair was very knowledgeable about the area. We did get to see bald eagles and an owl and another bird in their sanctuary.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable on the foliage in the forest and even showed us an important slug that lives and contributes to the ecosystem. The size of the group was as promised so it was a small group and easy to hear what the guide was telling us. The drive out to the sanctuary was also good as the driver told us about the sights along the way. A very worthwhile tour.
Had a great time on this trip. Got to see a few bears which was a highlight.

Our guide,Becca, did an amazing job on this tour. She was zealous about her love of Alaska, and it showed. She gave us a lot of information and was very accommodating
Breathtakingly beautiful! Very knowledgeable tour guide. Highly recommended!
Our experience was wonderful the bears, the guide Rachel and the experience was all we could ask.
This was the best tour! Surpassed my expectations. Tour guides, the best I have ever had. They captain would go out of his way to find us Orcas, he actually found 2 pods, the most wonderful expereince.
Our tour guides were highly qualified and the captain, give him 5 starts all the way!

This is a relatively short tour to do, so leaves time to do other things in Ketchikan. I really liked Ketchikan so this worked out great for us. You meet up as a very small group with a ranger with this trip. There were a couple of really big groups there so we were lucky with the size of our tour. It gives you more opportunity to ask questions and hear everything being said. The rangers are very enthusiastic and it rubs off. It's surprising the little facts you find yourself reciting over meals for the next few days after this trip.
During June/July you should be able to see bears too. The salmon swim through the river which goes through this forest. We arrived in May just as they were coming out of hibernation. A group behind us did see a bear, but we were unlucky. We saw plenty of Bald Eagles though.
At the end of the tour we got to meet the Totem pole Craftsman, Wayne. He was so patient, both him and his wife, as we all had so many questions. He was showing us some of the tools he uses and explains how he gets his ideas and makes his totem poles.
Ketchikan has quite a lot in it we wanted to see and do, so this tour worked out perfectly for us and the rainforest walk was on paths/boadwalks, so would suit most people.
Great rainforest tour, informative,
Nature, bears, dead salmon and Eagles.
Loved getting to hear the natives speak about totem they were carving.
The guide is very informative, we've know a lot about the forest.
Guide was excellent- had a great fund of knowledge. Great way to view the rain forest. Saw black bears catching salmon, a highlight of our cruise. I wholeheartedly recommend this excursion.
I enjoyed it very much! The bulk of the tour was about the trees and plants of the rainforest. We did see a black bear on the tour and several juvenile eagles. At the end, there are 4 injured birds of pray in a cage. For such a short port of call, this was wonderful.
So much fun! Our guide Becca was the best. So excited and enthusiastic about the park and the animals there. Even took my husband and I over to pet the reindeer all the Princess cruise folks had to get back on the bus.
Wel informed tour guide, enjoyable and informative walk but did not see any bears!
