What You Can Expect

Ketchikan Super Saver: Off-Road Jeep and Canoe Safari Combo

Off-Road Jeep and Canoe Safari

Enjoy the Alaskan outdoors in both a Jeep and a canoe on this 4-hour Super Saver Combo tour that includes hotel pickup and drop-off. In your 4WD Jeep Wrangler, journey into the rain forest and up the mountain roads of Tongass National Forest. Your group guide shares commentary along the way, via your 2-way radio. You’ll be placed in groups of three for each vehicle, and the route accommodates for stops to give everyone a chance to drive if they wish.

Pass through old-growth and new-growth forests, learn about the timber industry’s reforestation methods, and stop for photo opportunities. Finish your Jeep tour at Lake Harriet Hunt, where you’ll step into a large, easy-to-paddle, Native American–style vessel that comfortably seats up to 20 people.

When you reach the other side of the lake, set off on a guided nature hike through an old-growth forest. At a remote camp, enjoy Alaskan snacks, including clam chowder, smoked salmon, fresh bread rolls with local wild-berry jam, as well as hot chocolate, coffee, and more.

After a narrated transfer back to base camp, you’ll be transported to your hotel.

Our family had so much fun. We own a 4x4 SUV for over 10 years; however, we never drive through the narrow and bumpy mountain road in a national park. We scream and laugh the same time.
We could not stop talking about the trip after we get back home almost a month now.

Pleasant, knowledgeable guides who obviously enjoy what they do. Beautiful views of the interior and a great opportunity to "get off the boat" and see more ALASKA!
